Question: is the Profit sharing supposed to be taxed at the bonus rate of 40%? My gross check: $321.76 net: $203.99. Ouch. And yes, ALPA took their 1.95% too.

Sounds like you need a job down south if that is the check!! John, you and my other ASA brethern deserve much better!!

Cheers-rum

You know I remember my dollar going a lot further and one of my best firends still being alive before Bush got into office... Hmmm... Seems like the Democrats have something good going for them.

You better do a bit more research. The Clinton regime was the worst for this Country. She could not find her AZZ if it was pointed out to her...and Obama, don't get me started. He has almost ZERO experience in this arena of politics. He has already said that he will be committing troops to his parents native land to help the locals....more policing which we do not need and Clinton will raise taxes. Fortunately neither one has a chance in H#LL of being elected! :pimp:

Continue the b!tching....

Giving up on Hillary already JP.... now you want to write in Gore.....I know you like him because he invented the internet....and thus he is the man responsible for FlightInfo......Maybe General Lee will support him also......

of course ALPA takes 1.95% of the performance plus. They'll have to have another lunch on us to discuss the e-mail they send out saying there's a performance plus check in our box.

You got it, lol!

I'm mad that the Democrats have narrowed it down to two totally unelectable candidates, so this vote will be my protest.

It's funny. The 1.95% of my P+ check was about $6. I guess that covers my share of at least one lunch.

I have no problem with ALPA taking 1.95% of the regular pay check, but I do have a problem with them taking 1.95% of everything, including the P+ and the signing bonus. Maybe I should sign over 1.95% of the restricted stock grant to them too? Or maybe they'll just sue me for the 1.95% of the profit when it vests and I sell it? Maybe they should get 1.95% of the donuts and popcorn too.

For those of you who are upset about how much ALPA gets from the profit sharing.....make sure you max out your 401k.....that money is not subject to ALPA dues....

You can plan for your retirement and keep some money from going to ALPA.......

Well... the point wasn't to screw ALPA, the point was that I think ALPA is screwing us.

I just heard that the min days off we took 5 years to get...our Reps just gave it back. Pilots can take themselves back to 10 days off and we got nothing in return. No negotiations, just turned it over.

If true, sounds like some greedy pilots got the ears of the MEC.

I don't care if people voluntarily take themselves down to 10 days, just as long as the company can't force us to do this.

I think Joe Merchant had a scenario where he lost money due to the min day clause, and he would've rather kept the flying???????

www you idiot, how is that giving away anything, it is only if a pilot wants to go down, as in make extra money if they want, their decision. what the he$$ is wrong with that. i swear some of you guys are the biggest losers.

1. If you think an entity is "screwing you", then you fight fire with fire....If ALPA is "screwing" you, then "screw" back....

2. Contributing to your 401k is a good thing regardless of how you feel about ALPA.....I think everyone should try and max out there 401k.....A side benefit however for anyone who is less than thrilled with ALPA is getting to "shield" some of there money from going to Herndon.....

Good.....cost me almost 8 hours of pay this month....This is a good thing.....

Yes I did.....A nap had to be dropped from my schedule, which cost me almost 8 hours of pay.....I had to go in for a nap the next night anyway, so I really only got the evening off....I would rather have been able to wave it....

IF this is indeed true, then Kudos to ALPA for doing something that benefits BOTH sides......I can't see any downside to this.....

You really don't understand the process do you.

Well lets see. We are not paid 150% for picking up open time, from what I'm told Skywest is. We are short on 50 seat Captains. 150% for open time in return pilots could take themselves down to 10 days off.

If it's such a great deal then why didn't we ask for it during the last 5 years of negotiations?
