I can't believe that you guys hyjacked my thred.... 4 pages of pissin and moaning...
Oh and by the way, I still have not seen a new pain job on any ASA plane yet.... But the contract is close, and the co. is ready to get it done... Scott said it, so it must be true!!! And he also said that EFBs are here by the end of 2008... now there is something I can believe!
Waterskier, I see you don't post here a whole lot, so let me help you.....all of these threads eventually turn into "pissin and moaning." Either that or someone will tell you how you spelled something wrong, and then take the thread in whatever direction they want.
The "real" reason ASA isn't painting airplanes is that they are scheduled to be painted while being serviced in ATL during a 27 minute turn and the painters are the same people who run the wheelchairs. Copy dat?

Tru dat!!!

I really don't care either way about the paint, just thought it is interesting...
I am just counting the days till I get to leave with everyone else!!!

The plane was gate cleared 5 minutes ago.

Well, that's all fine and dandy, but the door's still open, the fueler is still hooked up, and all the bags are still on the ramp.:D

I think some CRJ100/200's are in play for some kind of an aircraft swap deal, possibly for something much larger than an RJ. Why paint 'em if they are going away?

I thought we might hear something about the deal on Friday, but the time line is not definate now. It has been described as a swap between several parties and everything hinges on the prices of both the RJ and the other jets.

The 700's are generally too new to paint.

Delta needs the RJ's to use as place holders and to swamp AirTran with frequency on routes where DCI and AirTran compete for business travel. The 50 seaters are real good for that mission. However the 700's and 900's with First Class are a much better product for that competition.

ASA/SkyWest owns ASA's old gates in Atlanta. So obviously Delta is not going to do anything to see those gates go outside the Delta family.

Are you sure that's still true?
