ASA was notified today by the National Mediation Board (NMB) that as of May 25, 2006, mediation meetings in NMB Case #A-13309 (Atlantic Southeast Airlines & ALPA) have been recessed indefinitely, subject to the recall of Senior Mediator Les Parmelee. (click here for more)

Thats right, keep stalling until all your assets are transferred to SkyWest. Don't think it will happen, look at Trans States. It's a dying airline. Unfortunately, management is holding more cards than the union does at this point.

One more question, since Skwest isn't union, what happens if ASA strikes? Do they pick the ASA flying?

You're right it isn't good for anyone, even people on the 8th floor...

I suppose you are correct, but it has been good for 'em to this point.

Turkey Shoot, you are correct. Maybe you can help enlighten some of our die-hard ALPA flag wavers. Trans States has a worse contract than what we have already agreed to, and you are losing flying to an alter-ego subsidiary. Some of our guys don't think it can happen. ALPA isn't nearly as strong as it thinks it is.

For what reason???????

As someone who was involved in the negotiating of our current contract and who has negotiated in front of the NMB and who has witnessed the NMB "parking us" during the last negotiations, I would venture to say that ALPA is asking for too much based on the current industry standard.
