If the pilot group wants this to stop, they had better not do anything more than what is written in the manual or contract.

It would be even better if we had an entire month of perfect weather and still had a melt down, to keep them from using that as an excuse.

It's certainly a buzzing sentiment right now. I've worked with a few pilots with a card (some laminated it to be shiny and soil-proof!) with all common, easy to find non-deferrable items to consider for times like these. One called it his "Wild Card".

If a meltdown happens, I hope it won't be from pilot sabotage. I don't think that would help our cause. *March Mayhem* will spawn from A-Tech's own foolish conception.
 
Just another reminder:

The CORRECT procedure for pushback is to only release the brake once you are ready to push. That means Cockpit door closed and locked F/A ready for taxi, all TDM data received, all cargo doors closed, and verificatioin from the tug driver or ramp that they are ready. DO NOT VIOLATE PROCEDURE BY SNAPPING THAT BRAKE AS SOON AS THE COCKPIT DOOR CLOSES !!!

On a side note: I flew a non acars last week. When I called dispatch, they told me the preferred method now is to use the new FDP tool on ourasa.com. That's good to know. From now on, at pushback time, I will oblige the company's request and walk my fat a$$ inside, find a computer and do the weight and balance. Once I get back to the airplane and comply with all the steps above, THEN I'll call in ACCURATE times.

I still don't see the link to the FDP tool on ourasa. Do you have to be on a company computer?
 
That would explain it, although I'm not sure I see a need for that restriction. It makes it hard for the CA to delegate that task. I guess they'll continue to have me do the paper form with my personal cell phone...

No where in the contract is it stated that you must have a cell phone. Is the company paying for your minutes? If not you may want to rethink that option.
 
Another poor me ASAhole thread?

It's getting embarrassing for many of us at ASA to listen to some of these folks...We are taking Horizon aircraft and CMR flying and yet some of these folks feel the need to get on here and whine...
 
So lemme get this straight: The company is in the midst of running different solutions as many times as it takes until they're satisfied? So the theory that 'if you're senior enough to bid a trip you will get it' is false? The company runs this software over and over again until they're satisfied means what, the schedules change each time they hit the run button? What? Really? The union sold you snake oil and you bought it. Voodoo bidding. Maybe the computer will melt down and we'll be done with it.

I wish something would melt down. This is gonna suck real, real hard.

(Guess we all just needed to learn how to bid, like ol' 777 says. As usual, we aren't smart enough to figure this kind of stuff out, are we?)

If only 20% of us were pissed with the results we will soon see, I would buy 777's theory. 75%? Maybe not so much. There are gonna be a whole lot of angry villagers. A whole lot.

No, that's not true or accurate. I could explain it, but it's right there in the LOA for you to read yourself.
 
If the company is in cost saving's mode, I think the pilot's should be also. One way to save would be to shut my cell phone off at work. Use only land lines and see what happens.
