Maybe BH just can't handle this? There's always that SKYW position waiting for him, so he has that going for him. Remember, it's not how we got here......

As someone suggested back before the OurASA comment section was shut down, maybe we should stop calling them "challenges" and refer to them as what they really are, choices...

His company memos read exactly the same time after time. We are sorry. Oops. We will do better. Here's another stellar job from captain so and so with hs f/o and one of our shining aisle donkeys. Blah blah blah

I know; those e-mails were getting old 3 years ago.

Now they're just nauseating.

Wx-brief

You are correct. Called Lockheed-Martin FSS and filed to get back to ATL tonight for the end of a four day. We had previously called Dispatch when a clearance was not available. Dispatch advised us to call FSS because things "are really hectic around here right now". Talking to FSS knocked the rust off the 'ol brain on the flight plan order! We got back to ATL just in time to wait for a gate for 30 minutes, oh wait, that is probably another topic for someone. Good night.

I'm an outsider reading about the trouble you are going through. I was wondering if these kinds of problems suddenly appeared after the acquisition or were they already there and exacerbated? Was one of the companies having operational trouble and then it spread over to the new sibling company?

At Mesaba we announced shortly after our acquisition by PNCL that the dispatchers/schedulers in our Minneapolis SOC may be offered jobs in Memphis, but indeed the MSP SOC would close down in a year or so. Funny old thing, most of those people started looking for and finding other work in MN, so then we had shortages in those positions. We started hiring aggressively for positions that we admit will be gone in Dec '11 so that the only people willing to accept them are inexperienced 'temps'. We noticed a sharp increase in mistakes made as the endless chain of temporary employees learn the ropes.

Our troubles are not bad at all, however, compared to what you guys are describing!
