And what's up with the reserve rules that do not give reserves any min day or duty rig credits?!?!?! This amounts to a large paycut for reserves, when you couple it with the loss of premium! A reserve line is, and will always be, only worth 75 hrs now. I can see not counting every reserve day as 3.75 hrs, but why can't a reserve get min day credit if he/she is called out to fly 1.5 hrs in a day, or get the duty rigs???? That is rediculous to only apply the credits once you go over 75 ---- which you NEVER WILL! I guess this contract was zero net gain!

And When The Eff Are They Going To Change The Hotels?!?!?!??!?!?!?

Could have expected that from you Medeco. So I'm not allowed to voice any opinions or concerns on this message board without a snide remark from you....and yes, I'll take some Roquefort.

Section 3 – Compensation
2. Reserve Pilot
A reserve pilot will be paid and credited the greater of paragraphs 2.a. or 2.b.,below. A reserve pilot will be paid and credited, at the applicable rate of pay set forthin paragraph A., above, on a daily basis, the greater of the following:
(1) Flight pay hours calculated on a leg-by-leg basis, including any
additional pay credits set forth in paragraphs G.1, G.2., G.3., G.5. andG.7., below; or
(2) Duty Hour Credit
One (1) minute of credit for each two (2) minutes of duty time calculatedfor each duty period up to twelve (12) hours of duty, and then (1) minute of credit for each one (1) minute of duty time after twelve (12) hours ofduty. This provision applies to the pilots duty as defined in Section 2,based on the originally scheduled trip including, but not limited to CDO’sand BOTC’s. However, such provision does not apply to time spent intraining (not including OE); or(3) Minimum Day Credit

A reserve pilot will be paid and credited the greater of paragraphs (3)(a)
or (3)(b) below.(a) Three (3) hours and forty-five (45) minutes of credit for eachcalendar day of duty and/or calendar day away from domicile. Thisprovision will not apply to time spent in training (not including OE)and CDOs; or(b) Four (4) hours of credit for each ready reserve assignment.
If a reserve pilot flies more than seventy-five (75) hours of block time in a
month he will receive credit for such block time plus three (3) hours and forty-five (45) minutes of credit for each reserve day(s) for which he did not receive a flight assignment in the month.

The reserve day credit is the only credit that is affected by flown block.
Reserves are paid min day and duty rig credit.

Ok, thanks for clarifying that. That is not how it was explained in a crew room pow-wow. The way I read it, since it is block hours flown, and not total credits that apply to the 75 hour rule, I still don't think any reserve will get over 75 hrs pay in a month.

Ps. What applies this month (Jan) The new contract rules or premium pay?

um, you're wrong

OK, thanks, I see that, see above. That is how a certain Chief Pilot was explaining it. But, the credits don't apply to the 75 hrs in order to get credit for reserve days that you were not used.

Correct, credits do not apply for the look back, but you could still possibly credit over 75 hrs, without flying over 75 hrs. Do I think it will happen? Not really.

I read the title of this thread anf thought it said

"ASA contract armpit"

Not too far off

Trust me it will. Every one leg trip to the overnight (happens all the time on reserve)... 3.75. Every time they call you for a CHA turn where you fly there and DH back? 3.75. A nap will most likely pay 6-8 hours. That adds up quickly.

I talked to a guy in the crewroom that had 60 hours block this month, and if the new pay rules were implemented he'd be paid 90 hours. Figure even if he got 5-7 hours of premium he's coming out way ahead.

Now, if you don't fly much, then you're not going to break guarantee most likely. However, if you don't fly much you're not getting much premium either. It's pretty much a wash...

But see how this will all play out: Read the reserve language closely. The bucket system allows the company free-reign to "balance" the hours flown by all reserve pilots.

The company will convert long- to short-call in order to avoid paying ANY reserve pilot a penny over guarantee.

If they really want to compensate us, how about the union arranging some more of those $5 Wendy's gift certificates? Remember that one? No, probably not.

I remember when I tried to use it the Wendy's in C concourse wouldn't accept it. :)
