Sleepy,

Believe it or not, I don't have anything against the Comair pilots, just their MEC and Chair. (But, I won't get into that again). I think you are right, Comair and ASA might not be getting much more of the DCI flying because the Delta well has dried up for the moment, and Chataqua is funded by people who might have more cash. Delta will probably give the flying to whoever has the ability right now---and that would be Chataqua and Skywest. But, they might come to you and ask you for money in order to expand---I wouldn't put it past them.

JMorgan,

I am sorry you were furloughed not only by Delta, but then again by Chataqua. I bet you will get recalled over there soon. As far as Delta is concerned, I bet you will be back sooner than you think. As you know from reading this board, I am one of your biggest supporters and won't be totally happy until TBKANE is back. I recently voted YES on the Cobra vote, and I continually querry Dalpa about their handling of furlough issues--like the upcoming grievance. I think we are heading in the right direction and I am very happy we filed for that grievance. I know that furloughs are a natural thing in this business, but I think ours was excessive and hope that they start recalling soon. IF you do go back to Chataqua, enjoy that advanced Emb145 or Emb135---you will be flying steam gauges on the 737-200 when you return. And, I trust Dalpa is looking out for the company and us--it is a thin line, but I do trust them. So far, they have been doing a pretty good job, and I am glad they didn't cave in initially. Good luck.

Bye Bye--General Lee:cool:

Thanks

General
Thanks for voting "YES" on the COBRA issue, it has been a big help for a lot of us. Keep up the good work and I look forward to see you on the line someday, hopefully sooner than later.

T.K. +810

Jmorgan,

You bet, I know you would do it for me if I were in your shoes. Just hang in there and enjoy the Jungle Jet if you get to fly it, but don't get too comfortable---hopefully a 737 or similar plane will be waiting for you soon. I also want to thank all of the Chataqua pilots for allowing our furloughs to fly there. That will not be forgotten, and also thanks to the ASA guys.

Bye Bye--General Lee:cool:  ;)

Chit is furloughing?

Who/what is "Chit" any way? Last I checked, a chit was a piece of paper.

As for Chautauqua.... MGT has threatened to furlough 60 pilots. I do not know how many actually have been/will be, but several have been told to ignore their furlough letters. We will see.

ACE,

If it were up to them, probably very slowly over 10 years. I think they will have to call back atleast 250 of the "War Emergency" furloughs after our grievance hearing on OCT 28th---but there have been things said from high level people---one an outgoing or retiring pilot incharge of Flight training I believe----that they could start calling them back in late Sept. A lot might have to do with the number of early retirements on Sept 1st. I have read on our Dalpa forum that the difference in lump sums for guys with 25 years could be as high as $75,000---and that is between retiring on Sept 1st vs Oct 1st. (Due to the rising Gatt rate) That might be enough for some of the senior guys to say ADIOS. I have heard that 200-300 Capts might bail, and some numbers were as high as 500. This is all what I read on the Dalpa net, though.
I hope the furloughs come back soon.

Bye Bye--General Lee:rolleyes:

General.....is Bushy back on the line? He came to talk to our class when he was still VP of ops

Here's what I heard...about CHQ!

Promises of growth in DFW, and more interesting(ACA FOLKS) growth in BOS. Delta has said that they want the 30 more but our labor talks continue to skrew everything up... hehehe!!

>>Who/what is "Chit" any way? Last I checked, a chit was a piece of paper.<<

Actually its found ON the piece of paper, ..after I wipe.

Ace,

Yeah, I think Bushy is a 767 Capt in ATL now. He was a great VP of flt ops----he cared about the pilots very much.

I don't know about Chataqua and all of their ERJ's, but I bet they will get the lion's share of the new growth.

Bye Bye--General Lee:cool:

That was so funny I forgot to laugh...

Now that I have remembered...I'll give it a try....

ACE 757:

Yeah, Dave's back on the line. Just had lunch w/ him the other day. Too bad he was forced out of his old posn and repalced by that shjthead Joe you-know-who, what a mgmt-groomed little shjt he is. I've known Dave for about 15 years -- a fine man. Things would be much different around red square if he were still around.

As for 'chit', 'chit' is the same as 'shjt'tauqua -- you job stealing little punk.

You job stealing little punk?

And this from a Delta puke? Why don't you check with your mgmt and blame them.
We are all just pilots and if the situation were reversed-Would it be ok then? If you got all the growth? Thought so a$$hole!

Let me tell you something- All you jealous biatches can go f#%k yourselves. Mainline military douchebags especially. This is the new world of the aviation industry. Maybe if you didn't make $200/hour doing the same thing we do this wouldn't be happening. But you can't change that now. So let's see let's blame CHQ for the whole mess, Chq who when I got hired had 26 Saab340's, 11 J31's and 3 count em 3ERJ's- that's it! We coded for USA, and TWA. Nobody cared about us then or better yet wanted to work here or anything. I for one could care less about what a/c I fly! RJ'S ARE faster than half the mainline crap that is 20 yrs old anyway!!

Well I commend the mgmt team at CHQ for the unprecedented growth while we saw 9/11 take place. We went from props to 75-80 rj's in 3 yrs. Who else did that?? AAH I... am beginning to understand the jealously and envy. Wholly owned concessions and mainline concessions lead to contract carriers being bashed. Get over yourselves, get a reality check, and BLAME YOUR MGMT TEAM!- you job losing little biatches!

This is exactly what management wants- the pilot groups going at each other's throats. I'm not happy that Chitauqua has gotten routes that have been in the ASA system for 15+ years but I can't blame the crews for this fact!! I don't expect for you to join hands and sing "Coumbyha" but lets be civil and professional. Everbody fly safe and have a great week- Wil

Oh look at the witty response from the big bad super pilot. Gee, that one can't be more than 30 years old.

Any way..............

kinda off topic but since CHQ drivers are so sensitive about their name i was just wondering, have you guys ever pushed to have your call sign changed? it certainly is a mouthful on the radio where brevity is desired, it is constantly butchered up in it's pronunciation, and it seems that the name is usually dropped most of the time and crews respond with just their flight number (not always a good idea)...just curious...

Why yes, the name is being changed to Republic.

Could not resist after all the nasty things written about Delta employees by a few of our subcontractors on this board.

Hi all,

As much as I disagree with Fins on a lot of other things, I think he is on the right track here...

You are going to see at DAL a mimic of that happened at USAir in the early 1990's.

Now that DAL has outsourced flying, some MBA managament type will figure out that, from a passenger perspective, there is NO difference between one DCI carrier and another, other than the COST.

So, with money tight, more and more flying will be outsourced from "expensive" carriers to less "expensive" carriers (plus they don't require ANY capital financing). Passengers really don't care how bad the service is because its a "little" airplane, or so they think.

But you say "DAL would never do that, we make too much $$$". Ah, but at that point, you are a cash cow, only to be milked.

Take a look at USAir...in the early 90s you had ALG, HEN (Henson, aka Piedmont) and JST (Jetstream, aka PSA). Wholly owned, makes money, great service numbers, best contracts in the industry. Mesa rolled in, just a little bit at first with the 1900s (and horrible, horrible service) and when the money got a bit tight, eventually management said "why pay more"? Bingo, our friends at the US wholly owned are in their current predicament.

In 1992, Henson was THE place to work. Comair was PFT, and their biggest piece of equipment was the SAAB 340. ACA was all about the J-31 and reeling from their separation from WestAir and burdened with a mix of aircraft from the Air Willy prop buyout. CHQ was a mom and pop operation flying Metroliners out of Jamestown, NY, and you had to pay $8,500 to FSI to work there. My point is, things change...

Don't think for second that a quality operation means anything. Don't think that you can't be bled for cash while being slowly starved to death.

My advice to ASA and Comair...do the single carrier petition, and get some SCOPE, quick.

Best,
Nu
