I'm expecting something to spool up with regard to our IAD op. I'm thinking the 200's there will be beer cans and the crews brought back to ATL in order to properly staff us. Meanwhile, the ExpressJet folks will be the ones to fill in the United/IAD void. I'm all for it.
Going to Compass is an idiotic move. Actually- making any sort of lateral move on the regional level, just isn't wise. Especially if it is FROM Atlantic Southeast to any sort of Hulas endeavored abortion. Seriously, this thing has been up and down so much it's mind blowing. When I got hired in 05' I was "going to be upgrading in two years"......it's now year six. All in all though, we've managed to weather the storm pretty well, if not better than most, as far as regionals go. The ride ain't over yet, so just hang in there and wait til' stuff happens to worry. We're making a mountain out of a mole hill with this rumor stuff.
Yes, we are short staffed, and no, I don't see it changing soon. Even if we upgrade a class of 20, it's going to be a no gain. I've talked to several people who are working on moving on with interviews. FedEx, Emirates, Jet Blue, Southwest- quite a few people are going to be bailing. Especially a number of our better standards folks- happy for them!
