I would think most people are using cups if they are leaving the half-empty bottle. If they are taking tugs off it then they take it with them.

as much as I would like to agree with you, the number of half empty dasani bottles I have found over the years makes me say no to the half emty liters,, sorry....
 
At Mesaba, if you find a half-full bottle (I'm an optimist), you always give that one to the passengers and get a new one. Also, it's a rule that if you drink out of the bottle, you tear the label off to let the next guy know that there's spit in it.

Now, let's change the topic and dispute the environmental challenges of recycling all those thousands of bottles! They're number 1 recycling code after all!

Just flew in the Delta system for the first time in a few weeks. I agree the new watter bottles are just too HUGE....my captain drank the whole thing in one leg (but did the walk of shame 3 times).
