ATR pilots have an option. Go to Ireland and fly for Aer Arann and make at least $100,000 per year. Aer Arann will validate your license to JAR and obtain a work permit for you. You need 500 in ATR and 1500 as PIC of a multi-CREW airplane. Go for the Guinness!

First off, if you got that much sick time to be calling in sick for at least 3 weeks out of a year, you should be senior enough to have all the PIC turbine time you need, and in turn, you should be out of the "situation" yourself. But I guess the majors won't just hire anyone. Secondly, it's that type of "me-first" mentality (I need some PIC turbine and I'm out) that personifies the ASA union. Of course they don't have anything to gain when their pilot group is not willing to unite and address about the situation. I'm pretty sure most unionized workers would be a little more peeved after 5 years that the ASA group is, and it's because pilots like yourself with a short yoke are only caring about "me." Don't get me wrong, I love me some me, and I'm not interested in making a career out of the regionals nor am I happy with the way the contract talks are going, but you have to support your own and look out for one another. Let me guess, you're voting yes on the first TA, even if it includes a wad of poop in your mailbox ever month. OUT!

Hey company man... how about this... Call in sick even if you don't have sick time. Oh wait you can't sacrifice to bring the pain.

How about this upgrade has just recently come down to the three year mark. To go to airtran you need at least 500. I know you haven't applied in a while but it really isn't that hard.

I think you are all about you. You don't want to call in sick. You can't go without pay. You hope the Union will save you.

TA. You really aren't very bright. You will not see a TA until next term at the earliest. The Union can't afford to bring us one and the company won't cave for no reason.

Until then I'm taking all the necessary time off I need. You should do the same.
