I served in the 11th SFGA after leaving active duty in the 80's. It was relatively quiet then, though we did get sent out a couple of times. I would expect that in today's environment, you could expect to be deployed within 30 days of finishing the q-course.

When you go through selection, just remember:

"Do Your Best..."

I reccomend dumping the wife/GF in favor of SF. GF and wives come and go. Do something for yourself.

Hey dip********************, I'm not sure where you're from, but let me tell you: I'm a special operator and that attitude doesn't cut it so don't pass it on as advice. If a Soldier cannot take care of their family right, there's no way in hell that they re going to be able to lead troops and take care of them. If this is your attitued, don't hesitate to keep your thoughts to yourself next time. I wouldn't want to recruit people you've talked to and had them believe your crap.

It's probably the branch with the "attitued" where they have to take their hat off to pee.

1st...You impress me

2nd...You totally mistook what I was trying to say. How many guys do you know who have been lead down the $hitter, or have lost their dream because of trying to please some fly by night Girlfriend, or psycho wife.

I've known plenty. But the blanket "advice" you gave is not good or valid

I'm a special operator
Well isn't that special.

'kin jarheads ... geezus.

We're talking US Army Special Forces, son. Keep up, fer crissakes! :uzi:

And for the love of God, leave the F-16s at home when I'm taking fire and need help. Send me an A-10 or Puff the Magic Dragon. :D

That's what he is. Don't let the handle fool you. But I'm sure he'll be along to tell you himself...

And don't let that "Once a Marine...." nonsense fool you either. Some of us were once Marines and then moved on to bigger and better things... ;)

Former Marine F/A-18 dirt mover, now US ARMY SPECOPS, 20 years and going. Never saw combat as a fighter pilot, but 2 tours in IZ on the ground so far with XXX Group. Keeping up good enough for you? I agree, A-10s for CAS, nothing else comes close.

Oh sh*t, now you've done it. In a couple of minutes that primadonna MAGNUM!! is going to launch into another lecture about how great the F/16 does CAS and all his sniper pod kills.

He almost had me convinced that the F-16 non-combatants at 20,000 ft had a more objective view of CAS than the dudes down at 0006 ft AGL.

F-16, not F/A-16, 'nuff said.

I'm just giving the 'special' USMC aviator (A/C Flown: F/A-18, KC-130) a hard time. :D

Moved on to bigger and better things? You know you'll miss humping a rucksack ... eating mud ... dodging bullets. :D

OK ... in the A-10 you'll probably still get to do one of those things.

I have served with C/9 in the past, now on a "different" tour. You sound like you've got some knowledge of Ft. Bragg. If you know me, PM me.
