Are Fractionals Part 91 AND Part 135?

I was told that the major Fractional Companies have ALL their aircraft on both Part 91 AND Part 135 certificates. This doesn't sound right to me. Anyone have any reliable info. on this? I have a steak dinner in Albuquerque this weekend riding on this one!

Flight Options Info

Flight Options holds a 135 certificate. However, we operate just about all of our flights under part 91. All of our aircraft are maintained under 135, all pilots get 135 checkrides at recurrent.

Major Fractionals

Hey RJL,

Just want to clarify something. You don't need a certificate to operate under part 91. Two of the Three major fractionals have part 135 Air Carrier Certificates. Last I knew, FlexJet was the only one who didn't operate under part 135. C/S, still in its' infancy, only operates part 91 according to a different thread and have no plans to obtain a 135 certificate. That leaves only NetJets and Flight Options. The 135 certificate came in very handy afer 9/11. All part 91 operators were grounded while 135 operators could go.

Nope FlexJet does have a 135 cert.
