American Airlines pilots Friday approved a proposed contract with the Fort Worth-based carrier, which now has new labor deals approved by all nine of its unionized bargaining units.
The decision by Allied Pilots Association members boosts American’s efforts to settle its affairs and emerge from bankruptcy court in the first part of 2013.
The pilots on Aug. 8 had rejected a previous proposal, known as American’s “last, best and final offer,” by a 61%-39% margin. U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Sean Lane on Sept. 4 approved American’s request to throw out the pilots’ existing contract, a concessionary deal dating from 2003.

Well they gave both away! Capt 100 seat jet Group1 12 yr pay is $114 an hr. FO 100 seat jet Group1 12 yr pay is $77 an hr.

over 200 76 seat jets at regionals for AA

First Delta gives a way 50 seat jets then 70 seat jets now 76 to 100 seat jets given away by AA.

Wait AA doesn't have 100 seat jets?

JB has 75 e 190's ripe for the taking.

So what alternative solution would you have proposed that would have passed muster for both the pilot group and the company? You only have so much leverage in any negotiation, at some point you need to get a deal and move on.

What are you smoking?

The scope limit is at 76 seats/86,000lbs. If AMR orders a 100 seat jet, it is ours, period. Does the 100-seat pay suck? Absolutely. But I was always of the opinion to get the jets on the property first and fix pay after that. It appears we've done that. Now it's time to fix the pay. Might take awhile but let's face it - we stand to exit BK with a much better contract than others in the past. Now bring on that merger!

Merger....Careful what you wish for; Doug Parker can get blood from a turnip & money from employees wallets.

I don't want a merger so that Parker can take over: I want a merger so that AA can survive and thrive with Toho and cohorts OUT.
