My buddy is interviewing there tomorrow I was wondering if anyone had some info:
Not sure about the pool, we have had very small classes for the last couple months though.
Is there a waiting pool? If so how many people? If not how long does it usually take from interview to new hire class?
Again, not sure.
What is the current time on reserve?
It all depends, attrition has slowed down, but that might be attributed to people waiting to see what happens with the Midwest RFP and the arbitration. Expect the attrition to pick back up in the fall, my guess would be 4-6 months on reserve.
What is the junior base?
Believe it or not, PHL recently went junior. All are very close though, I would venture to say that all bases are reletively the same, most people out of class have been getting PHL reserve though.
What is the upgrade time?
Right now it is hanging between 2.5-3 years. This is very fluid, if attrition picks up it will drop, if we get the Midwest flying I have been told to expect 180 new hires, therefore it will drop, if attrition remains slow and we do not grow, look for a long upgrade. I have not flown with a captain however in the last 6 months that does not have thier stuff in somewhere or that does not intend to put thier stuff in, so I doubt you will see attrition stay stagnant. Again, look for that to pick up again in the fall.
Overall QOL? Schedules etc?
I am an east coaster living in base in PHL, QOL for me is good. I am going to be moving back to New England, commutes from any large New England city is cake, but if you are commuting from the midwest or west expect the commute to suck. Schedules are being built anywhere from 12-15 days off for line holders, relief lines have seen up to 17+ days off, which is one of the reasons they went super senior in PHL this last bid. Overall QOL is better then most regionals, but the general concencous is this place is not what it used to be. If you live on the east coast or are willing to move here, expect to have good QOL, if you commute from anywhere in the midwest, good luck.
Thanks in advance for any info. PM me if you want as well.
