But...but how can that be? The company's latest negotiations update sounded so rosey and promising! They wouldn't lie, would they??I don't see a contract in the next 2 weeks, or in the next year for that matter!
I believe training pay is reserve guarantee which is 76 hrs per month and its in SEA. I pretty sure you have to find your own lodging if you are from out of town.
Upgrade is:
7 years to ANC
8 years to LAX
9 years to SEA
However, last I heard, some of our "great leaders" are telling new hires to expect upgrades within 5 years. Sounds like the usual B.S. that comes out of our senior management.
QOL pretty much sucks right now and management is trying to make it worse with their contract proposals. Arbitrated contract expires 5-1-07. I don't see a contract in the next 2 weeks, or in the next year for that matter!

So theorhetically, if the negotiations do go sour, how soon could they strike? I am applying for a job, but don't want to go if there is a serious chance that they could strike while on probation.
Yes, this may sound ludicrious to go there, but long term it would be better than retirement at my current job.
wow, does not seem like a good time to go to Alaska, where is training done?
I'm looking for info on training pay and location, years to upgrade, qol...
thanks

Don't worry, we will never be released for a strike. Ted Stevens will use his power at the whitehouse, and say we would hurt Alaska's economy too much (i.e. no 121 air service to the state capitol).
