Understand there were another series of interviews today (12-09). Interested if offers were made at interview or having to wait several weeks for a letter.

Hope to see many in the future.

I am hoping to get down to SDF on Wed. 12/22 for the next round of interviews.

Why would you leave a GIV captain position for a job with UPS?

Just curious, not at all intended as a flame.

I got my call for an interview last week. After 6 years of knocking on their door, thay have opened it to see who it is. I pray now that they will invite me in to stay for a long time!! Any new info on the interview from the past week??

Good Luck!

For those of you who were offered a "conditional offer of employment", how long before you can expect to get a letter stating a permanent offer of employment?

No problem, my wife and buddies are asking the same question (especially when you consider the pay cut)

My answer is, it's the last job interview that I will ever have to take. Other then FedEx and maybe LUV, I can't think of another flying job (corporate or majors) that I can honestly say that about.

I have watched huge corporate flight departments like Mobil, Texaco, MCI and variety of pharmaceutical, high tech, dot com companies all fold up shop. I have lived through the folding up of TWA, Eastern and Pan Am (my father was a Pan Am pilot). I am watching it happen all over again today and have no faith that the new LCC's will be anything like the airlines of the past nor will the same names that are on the top today survive to be on the top in 22 years when I retire.

UPS on the other hand has the best chance in my opinion for growth among their pilot group:
Their flt department is almost 1/2 the size of FedEx's (do the math)
The new China routes, will no doubt add pilots
The purchase of Emery will no doubt add pilots
The new contract will allow for the retirement of all the ROPES hanging on to see what the new contract brings adding additional new hires.

Corporate has been great to me and leaving a G5 with HUD and EVS for the back seat of a 727 is not a short term decision. This hopefully will be the last time I ever have to update my resume and logbook.

I could not make it to the interview on 12/22. I wish luck to those who are interviewing on 12/20 and 12/22, it looks like I will be attending one of the Jan interviews (no dates yet according to BN).
