Nothing wrong with the airplane, but low timers are taking all of that capability and flying in conditions that are over their head. The parachute is just preventing any Darwin Awards from being handed out.

In this case, who knows what happened, but I do know that one thing the Cirrus does *not* do well is glide. It's pretty horrible.

Don't the Darwin Awards require the nominee to not have reproduced before the elimination from the gene pool?

I tried the impossible turn in the SR22 last week. From 1000' AGL, the thing couldn't make it 180 degrees before the trees required ending the simulation. An anvil glides farther.
