theflyonthewall.com: ExpressJet Holdings Inc-XJT may be time to short shares
again-Underweight@PRUS
The firm said that now may be the time to short shares of XJT again, down to
their $3 target. Prudential said that XJT is burning cash every day and they
believe the company will struggle once the effects of competition from Southwest
are felt. :theflyonthewall.com

Sadly, I think we may have rough seas ahead. At least we are getting away from that anchor CAL.

Going on our own was smart, but it's not like I plan on sticking around any regional airline. I think the good times may be over for the 50 seat jet ops.

JMHO. I don't own any stock, and don't plan to.

We don't compete with Southwest Airlines on our routes. The stock was recently upgraded by MOST analysts following last weeks earnings call, hence the rise in price for a week straight.

Yeah, not really surprised. The whole branded flying thing has been doomed from the start and its only purpose it to keep the planes flying.

The real question isn't whats going to happen with the 69 airplanes that XJT is basically whoring out but what they are going to do when the next 69 planes are given away. Yes, call has said they will take away another 69 airplanes.

Learn from JetBlewit, don't buy airplanes and then figure out what you're going to do with them.

Not really. We have several routes that are already seeing full flights.

No airplanes have been whored out. I would like to see an example of this if you really believe it to be true.

CAL won't take another 69. It would be 25% of our current fleet flying for CAL. So 25% of 205 = 51 airframes.

Sounds like you fly for CAL

And you know this because???????? I didn't realize you were a member of the XJT Board of Directors who made the decision about how to use the 69 aircraft. Oh wait, you must be on the CAL Board of Directors, since you know for a fact what THEY intend to do. Yeah we learned from Jet Blue....they asked us for assistance and in 3 days we were flying for them.

I just love people who think they know everything about everyone else's business. XJT will succeed because management is smart, the pilot group supports them, and the business plan is solid. I guess they could have come to us for concessions, but instead they negotiated pay increases and further improvements in work rules in this time of "doom." There is a reason XJT has the best contract in the "regional" carrier industry. CAL knows it now, since they have to put up with their decision to use Chatauqua. DAL knows it now, since they keep asking us to fly more planes for them.

Go pick on someone that needs it....like most of the other regional carriers that have substandard wages and work rules. They are the ones that need to succeed and do better...to help improve ALL of our contracts.

On second thought, I just looked through your post history and I really don't care for any response you may have. Almost all of your recent posts blast XJT. You are a CAL guy that hates ALPA, I'm sure you fit right in over there. Probably the son of a scab. Keep in mind that one of the reasons CAL has such high customer satisfaction is because of the great service we provide CAL.

SuperKooter is a tool who does ABSOLUTLY nothing but flame XJT and others. Complete waste of time to read anything posted by this turd.

Well, as I mentioned the stock has climbed daily since the earnings report last week. It's got a 52 week low of $5 and you're gonna short now on a $3 target?

Good luck. BTW, I've got some beautiful property in the swamps of FLA to sell you as well. Send me a PM!

Who puts "soon to be 757"?

Sounds like someone wishes they would have bought a few weeks ago when it was under $6.00, now they're just trying to scare you into selling so they can get another crack at it.

OK opinion? Everybody has them and they all stink. What is the point of getting an opinion from a group who mostly has no clue about stock? Like asking the plumber to look at your PeePEE and get his opinion on your rash. Granted there are a few pilots I know who have talents of investing. Im sure as a group we are better off seeking opinions from professionals. That is if you plan on doing something constructive with it.

coming from a former Indy pilot, this all sounds scripted from our demise..........just give it time and you will see. At least you still have some mainline contracts to offset your losses. Best of luck though!

It's funny how everyone loves to be the armchair quarterback... Seems like everyone likes to jump on the "XJT is doomed" bandwagon, yet the only thing they seem to know about our operation is the type of plane we are flying.

Search the 100 threads explaining the difference between XJT, and Flyi or goto our website and listen to some past conference calls of our CEO explaining the exact differences. Either way your arguments are weak.

The fact is, not one other carrier has or is (yet... see the Skywest CRJ1000 post) doing what we are. And for a bunch of Embry Riddle Pro Aero Majors to sit around act like they invented the hub and spoke system is lame.

And if it doesn't work... Oh well at least you can say you were right as your managment whipsaws you against Gojets, Mesa, 9E, Mesaba, Chitookmybanna, whatever.. Oh and Fkcu Bush

Really? Please explain with factual information. thanks for your educated input!!

Exactly. Guess you've had to experience it to understand what we are trying to say. I do understand that not all of your aircraft are attempting to do branded flying but a large portion is. And yes, of course I am going to get mobbed on this thread no matter what I say since I work for RAH and we "stole your flying" and put you in this situation. Well guess what? The same exact thing happened to ACA which is why Fly i began and don't think you can't and won't lose more of your CAL flying in the future. Anything is possible when dealing with contract flying. I'm just saying there are a lot of similarities involved. I honestly hope it works out for the best for all involved as I do have a lot of close friends at Express Jet.

Why do I bother... I swear it's like talking to my sisters kids.. And as for us losing more CO flying.... Just tell your brothers over at CHQ to keep up the stellar work.
