What they have no FOs to upgrade or they just don't care about seniority? We have not hired a CA off the street since 1998. But guys are bidding CA in New Hire ground school

This ad might shed a bit of light on the job ?:

"Upgrade to PIC on average is typically 1 year or less
ATP CTP included with upgrade if no ATP"

"Crew members eligible for flow-through to our 121 airline operating 737, MD-83, and DC-9 "

But then, there's this:

"Non-prorated 18 month training agreement."

Does that mean your don't work off the bond over that 18 months but it remains the full amount, dropping dead after 18 months ?

The job listing banfanguy shared is for Ameristar Jet Charter, Inc. the part 135 operator flying Lears and Falcons, and they are the first choice to migrate to . The original post is the ad for Ameristar Air Cargo, Inc., part 121, flying DC-9s, B737s, and MD83s. Both companies are hiring.

...oooops.

But both companies are under the same corporate umbrella, right ? And people can flow to the 121 side ?

Yessir, both companies are wholly owned by Tom Wachendorfer. We WANT people to flow thru to the 121 side - they already know how the company (and cargo flying) works! There are seven former Falcon guys who are now captains on the DC-9 or MD83s.

DB,

Are you at liberty to say whether you're getting a suitable number of applicants in response to the ads ?

I would bet not, we posted on jsfirm for 3 months for 9 F/O's got only one that turned into an interview and hire. Most of our new hires are coming from internal recommends network back to the regionals

So, you're seeing people leave a regional to come to the non-sked freight world ? Better pay ? Bigger airplanes ? Both ?
