Such sweet memories

"For those of you going to PDX, make sure you wear your hats and gloves, it can get pretty cold up there." I was born and raised on the left coast and this genius wants to tell me how to dress in Oregon while teaching me basic indoc in BUR. Strange after all these years, this is the only thing I remember.
As to the question on do you load and unload your own airplane - my back is still sore some mornings - 10 years later.
Got in, got my time, got out - that is the way to fly for AMF.

Loading your own plane? Yeah, that's the company sponsored gym. Always get a good physical AND mental (trying to prevent a mis-sort) workout.

You can move around the bases by putting in a standing bid. For example, you could state you want any 99 opening, or you can specify you want only openings in OAK.
 
What are the pay rates??????????????????
 
does anyone know what a typical metro run out of OAK might be like....or how many different runs there are out of OAK??

Actually Bobby S. is a pretty nice guy if you ever got a chance to know him. Most people never took the time or were not around him enough. He has quirks, but don't we all. As as for the comment about what to wear in the Northwest, not everyone is from those places and it is part of the curriculum that he teaches. I may date myself, but I even remember when he came aboard.

I always get a kick from all the squawking going on about AMF everytime I cruise by here. It's good entertainment. I've been there, and gone through it all, for many many years. Even with all its continuing problems, AMF is still one of the best places to work if you're going to fly 135 freight. There are many better jobs later on, and many worse ones to be had. Of course that just MHO.
 
Bob Sulahian was my training captain. I spent a good part of the time curled up in the fetal position, thanking God that he wouldn't be the check airman for my checkride. I can still hear his beratment in that nasal tone of his: "Now what the hell did you go and do THAT for!?!?!?"

I'm exaggerating, he wasn't all that bad, but definately takes some getting used to. I'll second CorpLearDriver that as 135 Freight goes, Amflight is a good place to be.
