Might have read a job posting wrong but does Ameriflight have anypilots based in Rockford, Ill?
Anyone know where the Beech and Metro Capts are based?
Thanx.
Rockford is an outstation metro run for CVG

Doesn't ADS have a Chieftain run or two? I almost went there to fly it but wound up in PDX instead.

Oops, you're absolutely correct. I think there are a few PA31 runs out of DFW, including an outstation PA31 base up in Oklahoma City.

Frac Capt ... Mathmatics ...

"fairly short runs" ...

4 hours a day X 20 days a month = 80 hrs a month

80 hrs a month X 12 months = 960 hours a year

I wouldn't call that "FAIRLY SHORT" ...

Whew, I'm tired just thinking about it.

Don't strain yourself there, Einstein. I still consider 4 hours of flying per day 'Fairly short' routes...but I was referring more to duty times initially. There were a few runs that flew almost about 7 hours a day....I loved those...I only had to work 3 days a week.

Go ahead...do the math for that one too....I know you're dying to show us your prowess with numbers again.

The BE-1900 (just like the Kingair 300/350), and the SA-227 are NORMAL category (FAR 23 certification) airplanes and require one pilot for DAY VFR.
Day VFR? What does that have to do with the number of pilots required? Those are all single pilot airplanes regardless of day/night/vfr/ifr as long as the seating configuration is less than 10 passenger seats. The aircraft are type certificated for one pilot...so only one is required unless the FARs (such as 91.531) state otherwise.

anyone know who flys the PA31 into KONO? I just got home from a motorcycle race up there and there was a AMF PA31 there. I was talking to a guy the has a shop on the field there and he says the fly in around 11:30 and get a car and do what ever then fly back around 6. Also how many runs do they do a day into BIH?

New question: Does AMF require the pilots to load their own planes? Do they get paid for it?
Thanks! Maria

Yes you load your own airplane....... If you ask mgt if you get paid for it, the answer will be, "Yes, it is a part of your job, and we pay you to do your job."

In the pistons you are pretty much on your own to load. The bigger planes UPS loads at the hub (ONT) then you unload at each stop and load it in the afternoon to go back (with help form the drivers). The overnight bank stuff between BUR-OAK is loaded/unloaded by lineservice.

Long and short of it, just like many things at AMF :some runs are better than others...................

Thanks! I've got a friend with a gimp arm that's trying to move up in the flying world. He won't waste AMF's time.

On DHL(CVG based) or FedEx(don't think AMF does any dedicated FedEx routes anymore, though) - no. On all the rest, yes...some of the time, at the very least.

What aircraft are based in Salt Lake City? Is that a fairly senior base? Is it possible to trade domiciles whenever a spot opens up, or is there some kind of base lock/waiting period deal?

-thanks

anyone? anyone?

I know that its only turbine aircraft. They have b-99 and metros.I don't know if they have 1900's.

It is possible to switch domiciles, but isn't always easy. Depends where you want to transfer. Some bases are easier to transfer into than others.

thanks

Is it possible to go in and apply at a specific domicile for that location only....or is it just through the online app. and take whatever base they might offer.

Call the base you interested in, you've got nothing to lose. If you have to take a different domicile don't worry, there tends to be a bit of turnover in SLC.

What is the name of that Armenian Turd that teaches the 135 ground in Burbank? Worst ground school I ever attended.....
