You never know.. Upgrades turn on a dime... Im not saying it will, but two years form now Eagle could have 2 year jet CA and Comair it could be 8-10 years. Look at Mesaba, some Eagle pilots left for Mesaba after 6 months on the rock (SJU) now they are in a posible bad situation.. Eagle is growing, and we have over 80 jets on firm order in the next 2 years. with the new scope clause allowing for another 300+. Time will tell. But if you are a flight instructor looking for a job. Dont pass Eagle up just because of the historical upgrade times.

Interview...............

I got the call today!

I will interview next month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1900 TT
600 ME
300 JET SIC

Congratulations!

How did you land the interview? Did you just send in a resume and app off the street or did you have some inside connection?

I am a former intern and I sent in the app before they even started sending them out to the general public. 2100 and 600, but no call yet.

Congrats again!

I got home from a trip and found the application in my mailbox. I filled it out and sent it in the next day and got a call today.

assuming a new eagle FO gets assigned to SJU ... what's the cost of living in Puerto Rico? Do any of you SJU-based FOs have families?

I would think only 20-30 % of the classes will get t-prop. So maybe half of the 20-30% ATR SJU. Not enough pilots are bidding RJ FO. I never did any time in SJU so I could'nt tell you how it is. A new bid came out with alot of FO openings. So will see around the first week of JAN when it closes, what went unfilled. this should tell you what they will be offering newhires.. P.S. if you are going to come to Eagle get in as early as possible JAN-MAR. We are going to hire 35-45 a month for the next 2 years.. so at the end of 05 you would have about 800 pilots below you. Ive been at Eagle for 4+ years and only have 600 pilots under me. So good expansion the next 2 years.

The lastest vacancy bid just came out the other day.

For FOs.

7 - ORD CRJ
10 - DFW EMJ
6 - LAX EMJ
8 - LGA EMJ
5 - SJU ATR
5 - DFW SF3
5 - LAX SF3

So, does anyone have any more details about the 500/100 requirments. Has anyone with 500/100 gotten a call back from Eagle. My school hasn't heard anything from Eagle on the topic of reduced hiring mins (ERAU). You have to have a letter of recommendation from the Dean? Are there only certain schools which qualify? If so, which ones? Do you send in a Resume without the recommendation, then send the rec in later?

Anyone who has some info-I'd really appreciate it. I was pretty excited and faxed my resume, but haven't heard anything. Also asked career services at school for help-they didn't know anything about it.

Thanks in advance.

I think the 500 and 100 is true for ex-interns. The rest it looks like the classic 1500 and 300.

The 500/100 applies if you come from bridge program. I can't tell you exactly which schools they are (I don't remeber), but I know ERAU isn't one of them. It was only a couple places, and they were smaller schools. If you are interested in Eagle, I'd apply anyway, no matter what the minimums are. When they were last hiring, they were getting some really low time people (less than 300 hours tt) because they couldn't get anybody to come and work there.

Just know what you are getting yourself into before you agree to a job there.

Well, for what it's worth, I submitted a resume yesterday with 850 TT/200 ME. I completed Airline Training Academy's bridge program as well as being a Riddle graduate (12/95). I figure that the combination might be worth something. All along I've subscribed to the belief that the quality of your training is more valuable than the size of the number in the TT column, but status quo still seems to rule. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

I faxed a letter last week along w/ my resume, nothing fancy...1200+/170 ME. (I know that i'm far from competitive).

my contention is, IF they're willing to drop minimums for special applicants, then they might hopefully cut a little slack for a returning reservist and consider my times to be worthy of an application.

it's worth a try right....after all..i dropped out of the time building rat race to to answer the call to arms. I was neither around to fly and accrue the valuable flight time that my cohorts were fortunate enough to build, nor was I around to cajole w/ the universtiy or the dean for an LOR.....i did chip away at my degree course requirements via distance learning programs..just earned my degree this month w/ good grades (dean's list..no recommendation, but the word "dean" is at least mentioned =)

havn't heard from them (maybe it's because i forgot to sign it...yikes)...we'll see.

I'm pretty sure UND is one of them, pre 9/11, I remember our job site had a post for 500/100 minimums...not 100% however.
