Medflyer,

I know there is a possibility out there for Chap 11. If we get another terrorist attack on airplanes, we all could be Chap 11. I know our financial situation at Delta aint pretty. I would personally like to give them some pay. But, when there is only ONE union and ONE contract, that gives them more flexibilty than most. Also, that means that they actually HAVE TO negotiate--not just impose a paycut. We have been paying dues (or protection money) and the others have not. Management hasn't even really cut into any of the others salaries yet---but that doesn't mean they cannot. Also, that doesn't mean that we don't want to give---it is just that we actually have spent money (our own money) to hire people to look into this and tell us the REAL story. We know the amount, and we are probably willing to give a little more to help out. Are you sure that there are analysts at the same investment bank that we have hired? I doubt that. This investment bank, that I haven't mentioned on this forum, specializes in returning companies back to profitability and also helps with restructuring. Why would they have analysts who comment in public? I doubt that. Anyways, we want to help, we want it to be fair, and we won't give in to threats. Negotiations are just that--negotiating. And, it is amazing that you know so much about the DL books, have you seen them? Also, I don't think we would hire people that would just tell us what we wanted to hear---I think we wanted to hear that we should give them NOTHING. They actually said an INVESTMENT of 9% plus the 4.5% raise in May should do the trick. Think about it. Thanks for your continued interest.

As far as getting the slots at LGA, I would like to know how airlines just wake up one day and announce, " we want 10 slots at LGA during peak times also, and some very nice gates too." Can that same person come to Delta and try to get us some London Heathrow slots too? I will give him 20% of my own pay....

Bye Bye--General Lee;)
