Altrnate Crew Pairing model at ASA

ASA is pinching the buffalo nickle until it s##ts.......... They're running skimp right now because they are shopping. We've got a lot of "irons in the fire" for future flying and we're trimming our block hour costs for marketing purposes. Picking up more flight attendants isn't going to happen right now. Right nor wrong- this can be deliberated until you're blue in the face- it's just not going to happen. What this means for US, as pilots, is that if things dont' go smoothly, we're going to take a beating next month and the month after with crappy schedules that mimic those of the flight attendants, so the pairings do match up. My suggestion would be to do what YOU can to help things run smoothly- not for the sake of ASA, but for the sake of yourself for the future of your schedules....

Let's not forget 14-leg trips with 12 Flight Attendant briefings.

Let me get this straight for you, Jumper, I will and have always tried to get this show on the road for my company but when my company further thrarts my efforts in running on time , my hands are tied no matter how proactive and ahead of the game I try to stay.Things like this are out of my reach for unscrewing the curveballs that are thrown my way.They know this , and you know this. All I'm saying is this will only hurt are on time performance in the long run. I guess we'll see how long this will last.

Multiple FA briefings are no problem. I just printed the stuff out on a card, then hand it to each new FA as they get on board, and tell them to give it back before boarding along with any questions they may have.
Might not be very "friendly", but sure saves time and effort!

I agree with your post though. I'm not covering for the company, just stating the point that if it does change, it will be at OUR expense.......

Fair enough. Perhaps, but I don't think it has to be that way, particularly with PBS right around the corner.
