I saw that video. That was an awesome turn-out and many good points were made. Best of luck to Paul and Jason and best of Luck to all of the TSA Pilots. Don't give up the fight.

I think that ALPA needs to think of a way to make pilots fit into the scheme of airline economics better than they have up too this point. Management is not the enemy of a companies success. Managements primary goal is to make money. They are dutybound to the shareholders of the company. The fact that the pilot proffession has such extremes in pay is unfortunate and the result of turning a hobby being a proffession. But I predict that in a few more decades pilots will become irrelevant as automation takes the next critical step to remove pilots from the cockpit.

Get back in your 172, enjoy your hobby, and don't make flying your profession. When you fly to pay the bills, it is no longer is a hobby. There are lots of well paying professions out their that are also hobbies for those that are in them. That has nothing to do with why pilot pay is being continually lowered. If you were in this profession you would understand. Also, pilots will never be replaced by automation in our lifetime. Look how long it is taking the FAA to get the new airspace system up and running and approve RNAV operations. If you think they'll approve airplanes with no pilots your crazy.

All you have to do is look at how far computer have come in the last 30 years imagine where they will be in the 30 more. My comment on the HOBBY category for flying is that there are people to put up with low pay because they enjoy the work. These pilots are the reason why the pay is so low. If you dont like that they you dont like capitalism you would prefer a socialist system where pay is artifically kept high. Also flying proffessionally is a choice if they pay doesnt meet your needs change your needs or change your proffesion the choice is yours. Dont make the companies trying to be profitable to pay you what you think you deserve. If you wont do it at that price someone else as qualified as you are will. They should go as low as they can, welcome to capitalism.

.....looks like we have a future scab.

I am not a future scab but at the same time I think the Unions need to jump on board with the idea that Airlines need to be profitable first. Without that then no one gets to work.

Nice to see that United showed up.. oh wait they didnt. FedEX mec was their but United couldn't send one of their 7000+ pilots to represent something something their management is helping to start. Just a little ironic that Big Brother wasnt there to show support when its their backyard we are talking about.
