Where do you want your career to go? If you pass on Allegiant, do you plan on staying with TSA for your entire career? Do you want to stay at a regional, or come to what may become a very successful LCC?

I think if you come to Allegiant, you're looking at an upgrade in no more than 2 years. Right now the junior Captain was hired in June 05. Come November, the junior Captain will have been hired in Sep 05. The company is solid (as solid as any airline can be) and is profitable.

What do you get by staying with TSA? You get highs and lows depending on the whim of your mainline partner....

I know two of our guys who live in St. Louis and commute to SFB. We have a flight out of Mid America into SFB that they commute on I think.. I don't think the LAS commute would be too difficult either with caas.

Good luck with your decision!!

Thanks, I will be there on the 28th!!! Your correct about the highs and lows at TSA and it is more dependant on hulas!

Does that mean overnights?

I haven't heard of any additional overnights being planned. I'm sure at some point they'll happen as we can only park so many airplanes on the ramp overnight.

Overnights cost money, so I'm sure management will do everything they can to keep them down to a bare minimum.

10 days off for reserve pilots and 11 for line holders, is that really true?

Yes, but NO.

Our work rules provide for a minimum of 10 days off for reserves and 11 for line holders. Reserve lines are built with 10 days off, while lines are built with anywhere from 14-18 days off.

Reserve lines are also built with a number of "day prior notification" days. Last month I had a lot of days off. I've worked 2 days this month...

We may not be the ideal airline for commuters just yet, but if you live in base life doesn't get much better.

Kept gettin a call from them to interview but I really do not like the idea I have to find my way out there and pay for my hotel plus car just to get the job. Friends who did interview told me they were not that impressed and pilots they talked to all said they get the crap flown out out of them with only 10-11 days off a month. Yes flying a big plane might be exciting for some but QOL should always be the most important.
