During the second quarter, we placed one additional (owned) aircraft in service, bringing our operating fleet to 37. At the end of the second quarter, we exercised the purchase option on five aircraft subject to capital lease.

We expect to make more new service announcements shortly.

So let me get this straight:
No big markets like EWR, JFK, DAL, ORD
No hotel rooms so no 4 day trips and home every night
Low Pay? We have had pay raises as well as profit sharing and 401k matching. Not to shabby for a small startup.

Do you think Herb would've listen to such great advice starting SWA? Things take time. BTW, does the airline you work at pay what a captain "should" make? If you're a Bus driver, I doubt it.

If you don't work for JB, doens't matter- I'm sure your payscale still sucks for a 320 CA.....

Thanks for the suggestion, we should have thought of that! Who flies MD-80's and is not furloughing? Allegiant! What's your monthly gaurantee.....on furlough?

A minor point. The earnings you see posted are for Allegiant Travel. Allegiant Travel also happens to run an airline. The gross/net revenues include all income from the sale of show tickets, local transportation in LAS, hotel rooms, etc, etc. That's not to say Allegiant isn't a well run business, but the numbers are not just for an airline operation. A significant portion of their overall revenue is from things not directly related to the operation of the airline.

Please don't infer any negative connotation from my point. I'm not implying anything other than there is slightly more to the story than simply saying Allegiant (the airline) made money. Allegiant Travel Company made money. Allegiant Airlines losses/profits are diluted by what the rest of the Allegiant Travel Company does.
