General,
Why not leave SWA and LBB alone and concentrate on getting a contract that pays your FOs more that 80k per year?

Tell you what Chief, Ill fly to LBB every month, put 80k in the bank, and spend the 80k I have left over hiring your punk ass to fly me to Hawaii once a week.

You make sure you dont lose my bags, and Ill try not to spill any booze on my first class seat.

Chump.

How about NO? You can have LBB and ENJOY it, while I go to exciting places. Oh wait, you are going to HIRE me? I probably make as much or more than you do. Are you a Capt at SWA? Then shut up. Wow, you are so rich, which means you can buy a Pizza Hut SUPREME pizza when you are running between 25 min turns on your 5 leg days between ELP and AMA. Have a blast with that.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Oh yeah? Well, who controlled Congress in 2007? How about the Democrats.... The President doesn't snap his fingers and create laws. President Bush was not perfect by any stretch (he spent far, far more than any other Republican) but the majority of the problems started in 2006 when the Democrats took both houses. You can thank Rep Barney Frank for loosening standards on Fannie Mae-backed home loans and encouraging more sub-prime mortgages. Gee, great idea Barney! Oh, and by the way, Obama and most of the high-level Democrats voted for the TARP program as well because nobody knew what to do at the time. Obama is now pushing a huge entitlement program comprising 19% of our GDP despite the fact that the majority of US citizens do not want the program. Big difference.

Barry Obama, Senator Harry "Greed" Reid (good job on agreeing to the Cornhusker Kickback - yeah, that won't come back to haunt you...) and Speaker Nancy "Botox" Pelosi are basically pounding Capitalism into dust and ignoring the basic economic problems in this country. It's true. Small and large businesses are not hiring. Something like 18 million people are unemployed. The economy is nowhere near Barry's top priority. Remember what his henchman Rahm Emmanual said: it would be a shame to waste a good crisis (i.e., let's push other initiatives while we can).

I see that you're getting your talking points spoon fed to you again. Put down the crack pipe and turn down Limbaugh....mindless lemming.

So, if I were to become a commercial airline pilot, how often would I have to sit next to someone with this level of mental acuity?

Good question and nobody answered so I'll try.

Ans: Not all that often. obviuosly you get the full spectrum, but even the guys so far to the right that they are laughable are very rare and usually not that bad in person. The vast majority in my experience are much easier to get along with than with the personna JRod seems to have. That said, my experience also is that you can't judge someone by how they post a few sentences on an internet forum either. When you talk to people in person they usually are pretty reasonable no matter what their political persuasion.
There are a few that do nothing but read whatever supports their far right leanings no matter how twisted and seem to think that makes them better informed. They're the ones that seem to think calling people names makes their point of view more valid. But they are few and far between

hooray- pilots that get paid absolutely nothing now will be flying to Hawaii and undercutting everyone's balls off

How much longer are people going to blame everything on Bush? As a Republican, I can admit that Bush made mistakes and move on. Why is it so hard for Obama supporters to admit that maybe, just maybe, we should question what the hell is going on in Washington? What scares me is the damage that will be done before he is voted out in 973 days.

Well said!!

So you are happy with your pay, work rules, retirement and medical?

And your not undercutting our jobs and profession as a whole..?

No joke, help me out.. Maybe you guys got a new contract, yes,no?

Tatoosh

"Wondering who my cover letter should be addressed to.. Who is in charge of HR or Pilot interviews over there at VA.. Any help appreciated.
Tatoosh "

You didn't answer my question.

I'd like to know. Maybe my perception is incorrect..

Tatoosh,
With all due respect, you have been outed as a hypocrite. You cant have it both ways. I'll let you do your own hunting and pecking to answer your question. Good day!

I understand your in a tough position. Allot of us are.
VA, MESA, Allegiant, it is what it is, I don't think I have any illusions.. Although maybe.. That's why I asked..
Sir

Thanks for your understanding. I just can't decide between the 911, Cayman, or Boxster. Which one do you think? And should it be red or black?

Thats funny,
about what I thought..
Hey doesn't matter who you work for, whether we like it or not, we are in this together. The sooner we all realize this and start acting accordingly and collectively the better off we will all be. Just my opinion, I have a dream, uhh.. oh well. nevermind. move along.
I can hear the whispers of contract concessions already....
sir

Crx gets shiny jet syndrome, leaves his commuter job, goes to a carrier that pays crappy, then brags about what car he drives.....ooooo an MD-80 pilot!!! Wow!

I think we found the definition of "Tool" for management!

Another one who got his and could care less until the next Valujet or Allegiant or Virgin or Skybus starts taking market share!

I see that you're getting your talking points spoon fed to you again. Put down the crack pipe and turn down Limbaugh....mindless lemming.

Or you could get those better points from Keith Olbermann, Jon Stewart, or..........Maybe even that fat ass Michael Moore!

And by working at Virgin America, you are raising the bar?

Yeah, my pay is crappy. You obviously are not educated. haha

Their own James Carville said it best:

“Ideologies aren't all that important. What's important is psychology.

The Democratic constituency is just like a herd of cows. All you have to do is lay out enough silage and they come running. That's why I became an operative working with Democrats. With Democrats all you have to do is make a lot of noise, lay out the hay, and be ready to use the ole cattle prod in case a few want to bolt the herd.

Eighty percent of the people who call themselves Democrats don't have a clue as to political reality.
What amazes me is that you could take a group of people who are hard workers and convince them that they should support social programs that were the exact opposite of their own personal convictions. Put a little fear here and there and you can get people to vote any way you want.

The voter is basically dumb and lazy. The reason I became a Democratic operative instead of a Republican was because there were more Democrats that didn't have a clue than there were Republicans.

Truth is relative. Truth is what you can make the voter believe is the truth. If you're smart enough, truth is what you make the voter think it is. That's why I'm a Democrat. I can make the Democratic voters think whatever I want them to.”

Or when the economy returns and people start working again and then he get reelected.

We know we won't have to worry about THAT....Thank Goodness! No CHANCE he will get re-elected. Unless....they empty the prisons again and let all of them vote.

Even when one of their very own "Demo Leaders" talks about how stupid his constituents are....they STILL think "ALL IS WELL!"

Too scary!

do you have a source for that carville quote? Just curious if that over the top rant is more than the fiction it appears to be---

What any of the political divisiveness has to do w/ allegiant i don't know.

Maybe conservatives would be better off accepting that W was dumb and their ideology failed all of us. Good start... and the mess we have cleaning it up will take a bit... but Obama will get re-elected. I'll bet anyone here.

Adding $$trillions more debt to our economy is cleaning up this mess? Forcing a health care plan that the consumer doesn't want is cleaning up this mess?
You have got to be one of the dumbest people on this planet. And unfortunately you're just too stupid for your own good.
Take some of that bet money you want to put up and buy yourself a clue dip********************!
Or better yet, get over to Norway right away, I'm sure a nobel peace prize awaits you!

Why is someone with a different opinion stupid and a dip*********?
Seems to me adults resorting to namecalling to make a point usually demonstrates questionable intelligence. I think falling for the fictional Carville quote would also.

I think waveflyer does a pretty good job of laying out a case for liberal thinking. I appreciate viewpoints from the left and the right.I think we need both. We can thank liberals from many of the huge improvements in our society from civil rights, labor movement and to much more to list here. And you certainly gotta laugh at people like Ann Coulter, if it wasn't for liberals, she wouldn't even be allowed to vote. Don't forget Social Security was labeled "Socialist!" when it was introduced. Oh and all the pilots that lost their retirement to corporate bonus's can at least count on that "socialist" PBGC! I don't think you can deny that 8 years of the Bush Administration got us in this mess.

Oh brother......
8 years? Are you forgetting who was in control of the congress and senate?
And 80 years of Bush wouldn't add up for the ineptitude of 1 year of the obama administration!
Now about those 757's for Allegiant???

Well I'll answer that since I work for Hawaiian. You might think I resent them but you'd be wrong.
Fact is there is going to be competition, yes they get paid less, but that isn't really why they are successful at what they do. They fly between cities were there is little competition. I'm guessing that is what they plan to do with the 75's. In fact, the business they bring to Hawaii will be good for the state, which in a roundabout way is good for Hawaiian. So I can't say I resent them at all. If I did it would be hypocritical anyway. There was a time when Hawaiian was the cheap operation to Hawaii. We certainly can't rest on our laurels but I'm confident that we will do fine no matter what happens. We are not the weak link in the market by any stretch of the imagination, but I can't begrudge anyone else entering it.
