So it only take 30 years to approach the earning power of a 3 year SWA F/O? Cool. Why aren't more people applying to USEast?

Because everyone knows that you can make more as a Walmart greeter or Republic pilot than you can at airways east......

I'm not real psyched about the idea that people are celebrating the fact the East pilots have had such a tremendous fall from grace within the industry. Going through bankruptcy a couple of times and then having their pension stolen sucks. Having LOA 93 crammed up their backsides was certainly insult to the injury they underwent. Like most other pilots (I would hope), I didn't celebrate their pending liquidation because the idea of putting in a career at a seeming solid legacy airline only to be thrown out on the street would be horrible for any of us. I think everyone was shocked at the announcement they would be..."merging"...with another airline and would be spared and I'd *LIKE* to think everyone in the industry felt a little relief knowing they might also be snatched from the jaws of personal financial ruin in they were in the same situation.

With that said...

The West pilots don't owe the East pilots anything. This merger has been nothing but a crap sandwich for West guys. The "East-centric" middle-management lackeys thought the merging of pilots would be a quick process and, since it didn't make a difference in the long run, they added new assets (757s and 190s) and growth to the East side. Just remember, they could have put West pilots into them but they didn't. Since then, MANY East pilots have decided to take their new found growth, combine it with imminent retirements, and try to convince everyone that separate operations was in everyone's best interest. Furthermore, insist on pay parity, then Snap-back pay rates, and then ride the gravy train into the sunset. Well you can all pretty much piss off. It isn't a bunch of Gen X'ers who are tired of your grandstanding, it's pretty much everybody. USAir is one company comprised of two groups of pilots. Everybody sinks or everybody swims. Start living up to your agreed to obligations and get over your "legacy entitlement". I'm sorry your careers sucked but don't die an angry 66 year old. Take a breath, lighten up, and live a little bit. In the long run you'll be happy you did.

Rant over.

So far, nothing. But it doesn't mean anything. Same time last year there were no recalls. Check the application site, keep in touch with pilots, make sure you got your letters of recommendation ready when the right time comes. It might be sooner than you think.

Thanks for the reply..I will keep an eye out on the site. Thanks again.

I sell my hotel room and sleep in the airplane to subsidize my E-190 wages.

Then why the heck did take a job on the East to swing gear on the E190, if you are in that seat, i can't imagine you were at Airways very long.....Other companies were hiring when UsAir started flying that jet.....
