The pilot group must remember that this industry is very unstable. It always has been. Therefore, relying on pilot hiring at the majors in order to escape substandard wages and work rules is a foolish gamble. All it takes is another terror strike from cave dwelling, camel fking, Islamic ape men to put an end to your career prospects. All you can really count-on is your current job and its current contract. Don't let the major airlines make the regionals their bitches. Use them like they want use you. Make it hard on them. The SKYW market leverage for the regional market is huge, and XJT is two thirds of it. Let's force the issue a little bit. Please think if you are worth more every time you miss your wife and children on 4 day trip, every time you wake up at 3:40 am for a 6 leg day with a 9 hour rest to follow, every time you study new procedures, systems, and SOPs for 5 hours on your free time. You are a highly skilled, highly trained, excessively screened professional. Get paid like one.
Well said and worth reposting!!!

Or they might even make the retirement age 95. Then we get another 30 years of seatlock!

Well, if it doesn't go our way with the contract, we can be glad at least that Trayvon is dead. One less thing to worry about.

Come again...? I don't care if that was a sarcastic or a serious comment. Either way it is totally out of line.

really mickey? what in the world is wrong with you? It scares me a bit to think that you are in control of an aircraft, you talk yourself up about being highly trained, highly skilled blah blah blah and then you spew out garbage about killing somebody? You are a Psychopath

Tell it to the CNN sensitivity forum. I'm not interested. Some homocides are legal and sanctioned. Wussies like you really scare me.

So Ops check good should "tell it to the CNN sensitivity forum" while you talk in a Aviation thread about how they should dig up Treyvon and kill him again?

Only in America can I guy like Mickey Mouse pass a medical.

Forget about Trayvon. He's worm food. Just make sure you vote NO to concessions. There will be an enormous campaign from the company and the union to decrease our current low pay and chip away at our already horrible work rules. Start mustering up some courage to vote NO.

I just heard a rumor on line that Delta is realizing they're having a hard time getting rid of Pinnacle's 200's, by trying to put a 900 on Detroit-Muskegon (ya think?), and so they need more 200's in Detroit. The rumor is, they're going to not take away XJT's 200's this fall, and they want us to start a 200 base in DTW with those planes. This might jive with the sudden change in hiring outlook. Anyone else heard this?

Screw a DTW 200 base. I'd rather go down the road of dual qual. It would be better quality of life for everyone up there.
