And what do the guidelines say? I'm just surprised that some check airman would try to unsat a pilot who is not even being checked. . . . Any background, noperf? Was it a blatant slacker who needed a kick, or is it several reserves who've gotten dinged?

Thanks

tico,

None of the Legacy carriers are currently bankrupt.

You are incorrect regarding how Alaska pilot pay rates have been determined in the past. The MEC office has copies of all past contracts.

In the end we are paid by years of service not equipment type.....That is how the Alaska Air Group wants it.....Which is why equipment size is only on part of our pay rate formula puzzle..... And yes they were banckrupt or heading there when they extracted pay concessions from there employee groups and those bankruptcy driven pay scale are what we are up against.....So what is the ups pay scale for a 20 year narrow body captain or a fed ex 20 year narrow body captain or a southwest 20 year narrow body captain....all profitable airlines with much money in the bank and we are and have been during my 7 1/2 years with Alaska a profitable airline with much money in the bank...so what gives.....

OK I'll try again.

See, when I 'rignally asked this question, I was wondering about the pairings. I'm familiar with 5+ legs, 10-14 hours in a (not-) Comfort-Inn rinse and repeat.

Are the long vectors (eg. MIA) typically followed by min rest, or 20 hours, or what?

So what I'm saying is - Do I get to stroll on the beach in Hawaii, or do I hafta hurry to the hotel and get some sleep?

MIA is a 24hr. deal. You get in early in the morning and wait for the next flight the next morning.
