As a concerned AirTran pilot I urge everyone, including new hires to take the time to fill out this survey. I did it yesterday and it was pretty painless.
They are simple 1-5 rating and multiple choice questions as well as some essay type questions where you can really express your concerns, or share your ideas about what our negotiators should be focusing on going forward.
Let's show the new administration that we are behind them and want to take an active role in our futures.
As of today only 12.7% of the pilot group (206 pilots) have participated. As you are aware there are over 1600 of us now and we need to step up now or give up our right to complain in the future.
When we complained about the Wilson polling, MB and company responded with a simple poll that everyone can take part in. JUST DO IT!!
If you have any questions on how to get a ballot, log on to the union website and click the NPA Survey link on the home page. If you don't have access to the website for any reason call NPA offices during business hours at 404-559-7700 and the friendly office staff would be happy to help you.
The survey ends on Feb 8, but don't wait until the last minute because we all know what happens when we procrastinate.
Sorry about the rant but somebody had to say it.
Please take the survey today.

Agree 100%. We need to get good participation on this. Hopefully over 50%. We've got a good negotiating team and BOD now, so let's not disappoint them by not backing them up.

The thing that amazes me is the number of pilots that don't vote or take part in these things to get their voices heard. Then will complain and talk your ear off about how scheduling screwed them. We all need to look each other in the eye when those things start happening and ask, "Before you go any further, did you vote and participate in the process." We pilots have to start holding our fellow pilots accountable. Those that are voting and taking part in these surveys need to challenge your brotheren to do the same. No matter what your vote is, we all have to vote. This survey is a great start and has some good questions.

Lets get that $hitty FO pay up boys!!!

Not only that, let's make sure they hear us loud and clear that we are fed up with the bargain basement hotels the Company has changed us into over the last 10 months! Have you seen the latest FLICA announcement?

If AFA wants refridgerators and microwaves for the F/A's, then let them stay at these dumps while the pilots go to the business level properties that cater to a business clientele.

This is a safety of flight issue guys.

I'm with you all the way on this one.
I imagine they (FAs) also push for properties with smoking rooms. This is not helping the selection either.

Its too bad we cant require every pilot to complete the survey. If you don't fill out the survey we double your dues. If you don't fill out the survey you get a reserve line next month. If you don't fill out the survey YOU DON'T GET TO VOTE!

I bet if the union gave $2.00 to everyone who voted you would see 116% turnout. (I know I'd vote twice)

Well...since over 200 of "us" didn't see fit to vote on the TA (1 or 2 or whatever it was) last time I don't think that'd be a big sacrifice. I'd think that if you don't care enough to vote on a TA you shouldn't care enough to keep your job....

I guess we'll just have to double their dues and give the voters a kickback.

At CAL our last survey only got 59% participation. Which can be a good or bad thing. If the naysayers and lazies dont participate then the vocal minority (hopefully the strongest union guys) get a run on the house. You guys have done a great job up to this point keep up the good work. We are all watching and wishing that we had your level of solidarity.

727DRV,thanks for the remainder;i didn't realise feb 8 is already around the corner.

You're welcome. It will be here before you know it.
If people aren't careful they will find themselves on a
trip without computer access and miss the deadline.
Or even if they are home, sometimes they get wrapped up in their everyday lives and forget to do it.
If everyone would just look at this as if it were the monthly bid we would get 95% or better participation.
If you have time to read this you should have time to take the survey.
Thanks to all of you for helping spread the word.

The survey is very simple, it takes all of 10 to 15 minutes. I filled it out the first day on an airport appreciation in bwi. But the capt. I was with then had no idea what it was. The guy I just flew with hadn't filled it out either. This pilot group is dying for solid leadership and a message. Let's hope those of us on this board aren't the only one's who give a hoot! My number one issue was fo pay, #2 was reserve/scheduling.

I filled out my NPA survey today. FO pay was also #1 for me. Make sure you also fill out the hat survey on the NPA website.

My #1 issue is scope,#2 f/o pay,#3 reserve, since i'm going back on reserve for what's gonna be a very long time.

Also volunteer if you can,not like this captain who told me today he doesn't have time to volunteer but plenty to tell me about that ski trip to Denver with friends.he had the nerve to add he hope we get a T/A soon for him to sign.
If that was for me,it would be pay cut for those who just want to seat on their @ss and enjoy the benefits of others' work, pay raise for those who care.i'm pretty sure the company would agree since they would be saving ton of money.

We're unified enough to force the revision and rejection of a T/A.
.

Agreed, but voting no is easy. Anyone that has a good working knowledge of the current contract (and half a brain) knows the TA was a POS. Yet 38% voted for it and the other 62% go about their business like everything is normal. Oh well.

When is this group going to wake up and start acting like they want a contract? Too busy picking up opentime I guess?

Where's the leverage? I don't see any.

does anyone know if this survey is anonymous? It doesnt say anywhere that it is.... just wondering... and yes FO Pay is #1!

Just a guess but I'd say its not since your logging in with your employee number and one of the last questions asks for your name email or phone number. I went with scope and job protection #1 and health ins #2. Not to worry, FO pay is huge with me and I made sure to express that.

And why should this survey be anonymous?is organize labor forbidden in the US?when your union will ask you for your support, are you gonna wear a mask not to be recognized?
I don't mean to pick on you but fear can only hurt us.

Don't forget about automation of SAP2, no coverage limits on SAP1 and lower insurance premiums.

Seriously, if you hate it so much, LEAVE. I'll bet it will make your counterparts in the cockpit much happier.

So, in your opinion, we're a unified group?

All I said is that he is misinformed to think we have anything approaching solidarity. Am I wrong?

That's not all you said. You have nothing good to say on any thread. You work at FL, and you obviously hate it, so why stay?

I think 60%-70% of the group is unified. The other 30% lives in their own little world, but the majority of us are unified. I think the TA and recall votes prove that.

Since it is through the union, I can't see how stating ANY opinoin on there could hurt you. You shouldn't have to worry as, I believe, they are just trying to get the voice of the pilot group as they enter into the next negotiations.
