Let the insults, slams, and put downs continue.
Nah. What you wrote in this post wasn't rude or derogatory, even if it was obviously one-sided, and I respect other people's choices. We can't ALL want to do EXACTLY the same thing, we're all built a little different.
Look. All kidding aside. You can think what you want. There are different jobs and all have their pros and cons. I have my reasons and am very happy to be out of the airlines volatility.
Glad you found somewhere you truly enjoy. I have a lot of friends over there that feel the same way.
Don't think, however, that you are completely immune to the economy or market flux. A major depression would seriously mess with your operation, and more than a few are rethinking the private jet thing right now waiting to see if user fees come down the pike as-advertised. Would get EXTREMELY expensive EXTREMELY quickly.
The new contract here has made life a lot better than it was. It also means less compromising for me. If you are curious look it up. The late night calls are a thing of the past. The schedule does change on the fly but you are almost always going someplace cool.
One of my buddies was stuck in some pretty out-of-the way places a few times last month, but still wasn't complaining. He won't admit it, but I think he's getting fat on crew meals.
The new contract is great,,, IF you already worked there and could keep your home basing OR you ALREADY LIVE close to or in one of the domiciles. With the high number of qualified applicants, I doubt it's going away anytime soon either.
Other than that, they did a GREAT job on your contract.
I know that for the next few years everyone will be hiring. Hopefully everyone can get to where they want to be. I don't want your job and you don't want mine. I'm happy and I don't understand how you can be, but that's fine.
I'm glad you're happy.
If you read some of the posts on here about making the same money as Netjets pilot do with more 401k (B-fund) without ANY matching contribution required as well as more overall days off on shorter trips, you might understand a little bit better.
Just takes an open mind.
Seriously, have fun and fly safe.
Always. You, too.
