Anyone in the Airtran new hire class care to give those of us in the Sep 6th class any idea on how training is going? What was the breakdown of aircraft? How long is training total? Any other advice/gouge would be appreciated. Good luck and congrats to everyone and see you next Tuesday.

Im not afraid of goats or donkeys, thanks for the wisecracks.

You should be! Seriously though, I went through training last year. Started in mid June and was done with IOE mid August. Congrats on getting hired, I think you'll like it here. See you on the green couch!

I think 6 737 rest 717, text messagin a guy sitting in class right now, hope he has his phone on silent, he he

Any comments on the pros and cons of choosing the 737 vs the 717?

How is reserve on each of these platforms?

How long can one expect to be on reserve for each?

717: pro-fun, fascinating, short legs, short reserve
con-the seat, short legs (5 leg days on that seat, oy!)
Can't speak for the 737 though I know many reasons why people here like it and dislike it. I'd rather you hear it from the horses' mouths....so to speak.

Hey Tubelcane welcome aboard!

Just like another said the training seems to take forever. I started May 19th finished IOE July 30th. Only had one day off between PC and IOE. You are very prepared for everything and the instructors were great. Buy a seat cushion from Oregon Aero and the 717 is just great, don,t get a cushion your A$$ will hate you forever!

IOE = 182 hours for most chicks.. That's what I heard from the CP.

.. Just kidding my dear female high time pilots ;)

Seat cusion, WTF over? I didn't need one at TWA. Is that how they are managing to stay profitable. Next youll tell me the preferred hotel is La Quinta. By the way is it bad to have 182 of IOE?

What the heck is wrong with the La Quinta ?

;)

Seat

The seat in the 717 doesn't bother me any, I see only a few who have cusions.. It's not that bad really
