Airtran 717 vs. 737

Right now the only people getting 737 captain are senior 717 captains bidding over to the 737. So right now the movement is on the 717 fo side.

Not so. the last bid there were many upgrades from the 737 side of the house.

I believe out of the last 60 or so 737 CA vacancies, only 17 have been taking by FO's. The rest have been 717 CA transitioning over to 737 CA.

Out of the last 100 FO's to upgrade to CA, I would bet that about 90 of them have come from the 717 FO ranks. 737 FO's have alot of pilots coming on below them as the number of 737's on property increase, but the 717 FO's have alot more people in front of them upgrading causing alot of seniority progression.
