I have timberland boots. Did not have much luck with the durability of the deer stags.

Ecco.

You'll pay $160 for them but they'll last YEARS.

Gup

+1
Just bought my 3rd pair since 2003- the other ones will look cheap now and cost the same or more over time-
1 point- get the slip ons- they're good for nonreving

Do much international there hotshot??? Nice try though!!

Nope - I stick close to home, snug as a bug in my own bed every night.

And I wear what ever boots I feel like on any given day. :)

You're freaking kidding, right?
Cowboy Boots??? what is wrong with you TX retards?

Though I think this thread has drifted far enough--I think it's funny how opinionated some people are about the footwear of others, and find it necessary to resort to name calling.

As far as boots go--some can pull off the look, others obviously can't. They are comfortable, quick to get on and off, and go through security just fine. I've seen plenty of people with black tennis shoes that look totally unprofessional.

For the record..I've never lived in TX, but I have kicked some sh!t around in an Iowa Rodeo.

CP.

Clarks. Very comfortable. BTW, the salesman showed me how to determine if the shoe has a steel shank. Pull up the footbed liner from the heel. If you see a small rivet, the shoe has a steel shank. No rivet, you're good to go.

+1.

Love my Clarks. I have the snazzy Touaregs and they feel great. $70 on sale at Belk.

4th Vote for Deer Stags, at JC Penny's. About $40. Very comfortable. I've been using them for over 8 years (a new pair about every 2 years). Never had any problems with metal detectors, keeps a good shine, and comfortable enough to do some serious walking while sightseeing on layovers.

Here's a hint- if you're average bar tab exceeds the price of your shoes- you might be spending your getting laid/keep your wife money in the wrong order...
:-)

FWIW, was looking to buy a pair of new ECCOs but didn't know what "new" models are airport friendly; since they do not seem to mark them anymore. Long story short, was able to speak with an ECCO customer svc rep and they informed me anything that is "direct inject" sole are airport friendly and have the fiberglass shank. So far so good.

Black Ariat roper boots. Love them or hate them. 100 - 125 bucks. Light and comfortable. They still look like i bought them yesterday after 2.5 years. Never a alarm going through TSA, and quick on and off (many benifits to this).

Used to be an Ecco guy until they split before a trip after 2 years. Now I wear Clarks Escalades - nice shoes and cost about $75

My personal favorite are the guys that wear black leather gym shoes. . . . You know that's gonna be a fun trip.

Sketchers fellas. Some all black shape ups for the toned legs

Ariat Ropers (boots). TSA friendly. Comfortable. www.sheplers.com.
A much better look than black sneakers. And who cares what Bunkle thinks?:D

Peace.

Johnston Murphy Shuler Mlace 20-1911. Great shoes, very comfortable, leather is above average, shines up nice. At IAH term E 15% discount and on sale for $89.00 normally $125.00 . No metal shank. Ive worn deer stags, comfortable but did not last long for me.

I am looking for a good pair of shoes that are airport friendly. I had Rockport and they are great but not sure if the new ones are airport friendly.

I bought a pair of Neil M "Wyne" style. Very comfortable, and well made. A little pricey, but I think they are worth it. $200

cheers,
NAV

Thank ,

Some detectors are more sensitive, I want a shoe what looks good and is 100% airport friendly .

Also I do want a non slip bottom on the shoe. Most are leather bottoms .

Once again thanks for the responses .

I wear Clarks Unstructured. Soft sole, vented so limited foot sweat, many different styles, and never had a problem in the metal detector. How's training over there at G7, Outerlimits?

Training is always ongoing but good thanks. I am also thinking of getting the Uflymike . What do you or ur buds think of it compared to the Bose20?

Thanks

Coincidentally, I just happen to own the QC15/uflymike combo as well.

Excellent setup. Crystal clear communication both between ATC and intercom. I should add that we use these with a hot mike, so I don't know how they work with voice activated intercom. Very little noise fatigue after a day of flying. It's surprising how many cockpit noises you pick up on that are imperceptible while not using these. Additionally, you can use them with iPods and computers (movies) while commuting. Sorry, I don't have any experience with the Bose20.

Good luck with your decision

Just two questions.

1. Is this the most tedious thread ever?

2. What underwear would be both airport AND date friendly?
