I am currently waiting in the pool to go to class. I was wondering if anyone knows the latest on the United side. Is there talks of 70-90 seaters? Also, have you heard anything about AirTran opening a west coast hub? Thanks

You're asking questions NO pilot knows the answers to. Things are NOT stable with United. United isn't stable with anyone these days. We already fly 100 seaters for United, about 18 of 'em. The CRJ 700 is a myth for now. No news with AirTran. Sounds like they're headed west, but haven't heard that we're involved with those plans at all.

Mesa pilots are whoreing themselves and setting the regional industry back years. That will mean something to UAL and the UAX feeders soon.

That's the latest from Lake Woebegon, Good night!

I believe we have a date with the bankruptcy people sometime late in March when they are supposed to address our court order to United about their plans for us. The judge already told UAL they didn't have to tell ACA anything at this time so we can expect the same reply.

Their are always rumors of bigger RJs as well as other rumors as well. United is behind in the RJ race so it would stand to reason they would continue to pursue regional flying and as long as they are reasonably smart (which is always open to speculation) they should continue to use their current contract companies like AWAC, ACA and Skywest rather than resort to substandard companies whose performance coincides with their price tag.

The ball is in United's court right now and we hope they do the right thing. However, I trust the management of AWAC and although they still have alot of eggs in the UAL basket they want to continue to run a profitable company so I am sure they have more options and contingency plans than what they tell us pilots.

Hope you make it to class soon.

J.
