Sometimes, Active Duty is saying "No" because they think you'd be more competitive for something else--Pilots want to be pilots, simple as that.

Other times, the quota for OTS for pilots is ACTUALLY FILLED for THAT Fiscal Year--This does happen, and the recruiters aren't necessarily feeding you a line.

That being said, applying in the summer gives you first crack at the next FY's slots.

Good luck. If you really want to be a mil pilot, there are lots of options out there. Look at EVERY one of them.
