KHA was not ACMI. They had their own hub, freight.
Unfortunatelly ACMI is doing well. Look at Atlas, Southern, Gemini, Kalitta etc. Emery, Airborne Express, KHA, now DHL, mainly Fedex and UPS competitors have not been doing very well. XNA was a good company, CAT and Focus scambags.

IMO things are moving towards larger, better financed operations in the ACMI world.

There's a growing demand for cargo-lift out there, but... At the same time, there are changes afoot that will increase the starting, and operating costs of driving freight across the sky...

RNP requirements forcing better avionics, various regulatory changes, and increasing staffing issues have and will pinch the bottom line. But IMO it will be increasing fuel costs and carbon taxing that are going to really alter the ACMI landscape.

The day might come (in the not so distant future) that many of the current crop of air-freighters are no longer profitable to operate. Not that cargo or ACMI flying will cease to exist, rather there will be a move into newer airframes such as the B777.

Sure, you will always have the fringe operations able to make a buck with classics on some niche markets, but that will be pretty cuttroat and like this thread implies, there will be a lot of comapnies that do not make it.

World Airways has been in business for 60 years. Its been said we can't even get going bankrupt right so we just keeping muddeling through.

Old Airlines

The original Southern Air Transport celebrated 50 years in business, then faded into the sunset...

Cappy 757

I think they are only getting one 757...And you can bet that Peter the Fox will have the lowest paid aircrew ever to operate a 757...

The scumbag operators will always be around . . . . like cockroaches. The world might go into nuclear and biological meltdown, but the likes of Capital, TDX, Arrow, Connie, etc will still be flying their claptrap junk around the globe.

Name Change suggestion

Perhaps you might consider changing your name to Paininass...Apparently you consider yourself to be a member of the more elite among us. Why does someone with such a high opinion of himself bother to read what the scumbags are doing in this world? Also you might remember that Capitol and ATI didn't crash this latest party. We were thrown in the door by some of the Elitist management who must see some worth in these companies. If you want to put down anyone, you might concentrate on the management of these companies...Just a lowly cockroaches opinion.
