If you work for Empire, MAC are you able to jumpseat on Fedex? Any chance that they are CASS? Any talk of it? Anyone care to share what life is like with MAC or Empire? Do you fly 5 days a week, every week? Just curious how life would be compared to a regional airline. Thanks

At Empire we are working on getting in the CASS system. Hopefully well have CASS in a couple of months. Most of our runs are 4-5 days a week-home at your base everyday and weekends off. I doubt if we will ever be able to jumpseat on FedEx.

Why can't you jumpseat on FedEx? Most other feeders are allowed to jumpseat on thier mainline. Is there a flowthrough to FedEx from the FedEx feeder system?

It's very different to get upgraded in a Shorts 330/360 (steam gauges, unpressurized and 160kts aircraft) than in a ATR 42/72 (Double the t/o weight, FMS, AFIS, pressurized aircraft).

When Empire gets into the CASS system, I don't see why the won't be able to jumpseat on Fedex. All the other CASS members do.

No jumpseat in MAC

LOL!!! I've been trying to get on with a major for years. Look at all the planes i'm typed in and my total time and I can't even got a F-you from a major. How in the world do you think someone flying a Shorts is going to go directly from that to a major? Please tell me and if you are right, i'll quit Eagle today and get on at that place.

Thats funny, we have guys leaving Cherry Air all the time for the majors. Most only have experience in one jet, the Lear 25 or the Falcon 20. Alot of our guys usually get a job with around 1500 multi turbine PIC...

I'm not aware of any flow-through to FedEx other than our CEO and D.O. will write a L.O.R. for us to FedEx if we are good employees. I think that many Feeder pilots would be excellent employees for FedEx-all of the time that they spend flying in the FedEx system.

I'm not entirely sure. Part of the challenge with getting on at FedEx is that I believe they require references from 3 of their pilots whom you have flown with in the past. It may be difficult for a lot of people to get the required references that they need.

Yeah, they keep us seperated from the mainline pilots. Also, they can no longer jumpseat on us, so if you do not already know any mainline pilots you are not going to meet them through work.
