What carrier is ACC? Also, what is the chance of being hired as a street captain at any of these better cargo carriers. Thanks

ACC=Air Cargo Carriers
MAC=Mountain Air Cargo
Empire=Empire

Empire hired a few off the street captains a few months back, but they're pretty much done with that now. Not sure about ACC or MAC

Other than the regionals, where are ACC pilots getting hired? Many going to Majors, FedEx, UPS, etc.?

LOL!!! I've been trying to get on with a major for years. Look at all the planes i'm typed in and my total time and I can't even got a F-you from a major. How in the world do you think someone flying a Shorts is going to go directly from that to a major? Please tell me and if you are right, i'll quit Eagle today and get on at that place.

It's probably your breath. Are you brushing your teeth before interviews. :(

does MAC base at IND? i see their vans and either the 27 or 42 (unless i fly an airplane i'm horrible at identifying it) each morning when i finish up for the night. or are those guys just waitin to be loaded and head out?

If you work for Empire, MAC are you able to jumpseat on Fedex? Any chance that they are CASS? Any talk of it? Anyone care to share what life is like with MAC or Empire? Do you fly 5 days a week, every week? Just curious how life would be compared to a regional airline. Thanks

No jumpseat, not on anyone. We are not CASS and can not reciprocate, so we can't jump. Life at MAC, I don't know, I don't have a life other than MAC. You fly 4-6 days a week depending on the run, most are 4 days a week. However, on the fifth day you will not be off, you will be MAC standby. MAC standby is not required by FedEx, but MAC makes you do it anyway, just in case. That means on Friday night you are sitting in a hotel or home if based with the airplane from Friday evening until Saturday morning. So all work weeks are from Monday (morning if you float) until Saturday morning. As an FO you will work every week with an occasional reserve week. No real weeks off except the occasional, once every three months, week off. So basically you have 1 day off a week, work every week, and never see the sun unless it is coming up. But what the hell, some of us enjoy it.
