For those of you hoping to be based in LGA the company just announced that the base would be closing on the first of november. Delta wants it that way. All this flying will be transferred to CVG.

The official announcement will be made on Monday. It's still officially a "rumor"...although we (at LGA) all know it's "official".
From Queens to Northern Kentucky....OUUUUCH! That's a h#ll of a transition...I'm going to really miss New York City.

ACA's crew bases are Washington - Dulles, Cinncinatti, Chicago, and Boston. I guess LGA isnt a crew base anymore. Or at least not by the time I get there. Anyone hear anything about the september class yet? Waiting is killing me....

When? if it was about 5 months ago Bobardier was showing off it's CRJ 700. It then went on to ATL, St. George, UT and several other places. It was just a Bombardier sales junket to tease our "suits" and those of other carriers. Friends of mine at Skywest said Bombardier was ther a couple of day later.

The j41 classes have the same dates as the CRJ up to 12/10/02
then there appears to be no additional classes, at least for 2002.
I'm just a line CA who doesn't fly the 41 so perhaps one of our 41 drivers can provide more info. I do Know the j41 is meant to be replaced by the additional 25 CRJ's by April 2004.

I got a call 3 weeks ago with the offer(Sept class) but no specific date or letter of acceptance.....Should I call?

If it makes you feel any better you are not alone. I interviewed on 7/19 and three of us who were hired on that day don't have any word on classes yet either other than sometime in September. Might have something to do with their new rolling bid and maybe they are waiting to see how that flushes out to assign equipment and class dates to new hires (just a wild guess).

sorry to hear you guys at ACA will be all based at Cincitucky.

There have been rumors hear at Comair that there may be a base opening in the Northeast.

Has anyone at ACA heard this one??

Haven't heard anything on Comair opening a new base. Aca will still have a base at Boston though. We will still be flying the LGA routes, but we'll be starting them out of Cinci. So no more Lga base.

even ASA ATR's are apparently operating out of CVG, have you seen any there?

Sorry guys, I should have been more specific about classes. I simply posted the class dates as per the new rolling bid which cover the period from Oct 1st to Mar 31st of next year. From all accounts the company are still actively running classes thru Aug. and Sept., however I do not know the exact starting dates and the associated equipment. I apologise that my origional post may not help those in the Aug. and Sept. pool. It should however help people who are hired later in the summer.

I'm sorry you're not happy, then maybe you should not be in this industry. People who never been-there are the ones that care. 18K flying something is better than making 0k flying nothing. Granted I wish it was more, but it is not. I will live with it until things change. I'm having a blast making my 25k a year and i also know i will be making more next year.

We lost the Orlando deal because we don't have the growth capability for obvious reasons...Dornier went out of business.
Parts and MX is already an issue...

If we want to keep Delta...Embraer is the only game in town...word on the street...a jungle jet was at Dulles last week.

This is exactly why all the big money airline jobs will soon be gone. Mgmt. knows someone will always do it cheaper. And all we can do is sit and watch RJs get bigger and payscales get smaller.

Wish I had better news for you but ACA doesnt pay for very much at all unfortunately during training. $200/wk is all they pay w/no per diem (until IOE), no hotel, no uniform(payroll deduct). After 75 days in training, you get your regular first year pay. Best bet is to share a crashpad with some guys while in training and save for a rainy day before you get here. Perhaps in another 2.5 yrs we can get the starting pay changed when the current contract talks will be set to begin but the 75 day deal is a def step in right direction. As for here and now: time in training has decreased dramatically and is actually beneficial to you guys waiting out there for a class. I would say you can expect to be in training about 3 months as a new hire.
