Well good luck with that nite. If you think DHL's done with having a SIGNIFICANT role in cutting your pay when this contracts done.....let's see where things are ina couple of years for ya. Best of luck. Yall are gonna need it. AND FYI, WE didn't fail. We signed a contract the 2nd of which DHL's ethics gutted. Guess failure and success is in the eye of the beholder. Its OK though after the bunker in ILN came down, we new that wouldn't be the last thing 1224 decided to drop in order to garner favor with DHL.

DHL should have no role with ABX pilots. ABX pilots deal with ABX management who have multiple customers. If each customer would have a say in ABX (or any pilot group for that matter) it would be a nightmare and that includes DHL. ABX has a new model and getting the best in that segment of the industry without chasing all the customers away is the fine line each company has to deal with. DHL is just a customer, just like so many others.

In my opinion, you guys got screwed by DHL because you were negotiating with the executioner who knew he was going to wield the axe in the very near future. That is not your fault but you have to ask why you were put in such a situation. Who threw you out and played it until the end? My guess is Daz-ch-bag, but thats just my opinion.

AV8, ASTAR put all their eggs in 1 basket much to their undoing. ATSG gets 28-32 percent of its revenue from DHL. At the 1.75 markup for Dhl business ABX was not making alot. Love or hate JH he at least was smart enough to look for outside DHL business and cut doors in aircraft as the new business model requires. ABX does not live and die by DHL like ASTAR.

Are all these flying groups under ATSG ALPA?

Cappy and now (as you well know!) ATI are ALPA. ABX is IBT 1224. All 3 make up the flying part of ATSG. Astar isn't part of ATSG, but they are ALPA. The complications come in that Astar and ABX have worked DHL under Deutche Post for the last few years following an epically botched acquisition, while Cappy and ATI have been working for BAX/Schenker under Deutche Bahn for a long time. The two formerly competing groups now seem to be complimenting each other in what used to be entirely separate systems. Clear as mud?

How's ground school going?
