did we ever find out if all the furloughs go thru what number the last american pilot would be and just how many TWAA pilots would be left on the property. My brother in law is AA and he was hired in the spring of 2000. I hate to ask him so I will ask the other AA or TWAA pilots on this board.

Last AA # on the property is 10013, Feb 2000 AA hire date, or Sep 1988 TWA hire date.

Approx. 500 TWA pilots left, out of 2300.

Total AA furloughed pilots, approx. 1070... Total TWA pilots furloughed, approx. 1800.

And the misery goes on.

Don't need to guess...Roy's number for July 05 are ~ 8900.
What's with all the negativity. Roy's numbers with MOAB I & II have worked out well, haven't they?? Besides, the new relationship with management is just starting to hit paydirt. Extensive and exhaustive research by combined management/labor working groups has finally gotten to the root of the problem.
Since you're probably wondering:

Too many seats chasing too few dollars....nope, not the problem.
Too many flights at cost + 8% being flown on Revenueless Jet affiliates.....nope, not the problem.
No external air to pre-cool the tubes in MIA....nope, not the problem.
Waiting for hours at JFK for a gate while the pax watch the JB jets zip in & out....nope, not the problem.
Too few gate agents being forced to close the doors at D-5 (under the threat of termination) regardless of the number of resulting misconnects....nope, not the problem.

You see the problem is much more serious but the fix is already being put in place. It has been determined that the linchpin of the We Know Why You Fly (Southwest & Jet Blue) campaign is the need for personable and charming PA's from the crew. Yep, that's all there is to it. Feeling better now aren't you. Recalls should begin shortly.

Regards,

aa73--I was told that when the March furloughs were done, that was it. But that was March '04 and I was in that batch. Oops!

I'm keeping my number just in case.

Ok, I'm keeping it 'cause I'm a hopeless optimist.

OK, I'm a sap! TC

Man, reading this thred is Deja-vu for me.

Whats happening at AA/Eagle is exactly what happend at Continental/Continental Express (ExpressJet now) after 9/11. Half their furloughs flowed back to Express and bumped 400 of us Capts. back to the right seat. As each year went by we (Express guys) kept saying, "Well, they got to recall this year, they don't have enough pilots" haha suckers! those rat bastards just whored up all kinds of OT never once thinking about their furloughed brethen, and the company knew they would, so they just never bothered recalling even though the union kept saying the math just doesn't add up, you see, they just have to add the "whore factor" when they do those block hour calculations. So, after they couldn't get any more open time to be picked up from greedy greasy rats (alot of them senior too!) and after all the stupid guys who answered their phones and were junior manned were found, and after all their reserves finally timed out, then, ONLY then, were they forced to start recalls. Well, now things have turned around over there and the last furlough should be back on property this spring. I didn't get my seat back for 2 1/2 years.

So I feel for all you Eagle guys, my heart goes out to you I know what your going though. Hang in there, cuz it looks like history is repeating it's ugly self again.

That makes two of us, Bro!

What they meant to say was: This is the last round... for April.

Well if history is repeating itself we should have everyone recalled in a couple years then, right? Sweet!

:D
