oral was easy, short, but results not typical. vmc and critical engine..other than that..not much really...commercial privlidges and limitations, airspace, fuel system, landing gear system, (nothing on the constant speed propeller system surprisingly)...asked me runway light questions which i fouled up.

flight was 1.1, steep turns, stalls, vmc demo, couple of failures, one full feather, secure, and airstart, single engine gps approach to a circle to land...also did an aborted takeoff (i wish i was taller so I would have better braking authority)...

Congratulations. What's the deal with single engine commercial though? Hopefully you will/have added it on. That's always fun to do in one day. That's how I did it. First came a C172RG ride for emergency procedures and complex operations. Then came maneuvers in a regular 172. Then came the commercial IFR multi ride in a BE-95. Stressful day.

Did you do any bird chasing or banner tow pickups on the practical? There should be some bird chasing on the practical, if that's all we can do with a commercial.

Single engine banner pickup, then a tow down the beach at 150 feet.

What is a BE-95?

I was going to do the CSEL intial, but the RG broke, so I transitioned to the Duchess and did the CMEL initial. I'm heading back to NJ in the next few days, and will do the CSEL addon in a 172 when I get back up there this summer. Then onto the CFI.

I did all my bird chasing before I became a pilot, but it's not too late for you. Chase some birds. And for gawd's sake, don't listen to that 752 guy but part of the time. :laugh:

Well, to me, I did the time building moving towards the 250 hours. I'd like to think the flight instruction will be more than just time building.

Congrats. However you're not a commercial pilot until you receive compensation for flying. You're commercially certificated. Same as if you graduated from law school but haven't passed the bar exam.

Don't listen to him. You are a commercial pilot!

Is the holder of a PPL not a private pilot until he owns his own private plane?
Is a sport pilot not a sport pilot unless he competes?
Is an ATP only an ATP if he flies for an airline?

He's a commercial pilot......an unemployed commercial pilot.

Congratulations!, Yes, the BE95 is a Travelair...predecessor to the baron 55, but with 180 horsepower engines. Straight tail, instead of swept back.

Well it is, you will learn far more as an instructor then you ever did going to flight school.
 
BE-95s rock. Very nostalgic multi. It was an honor to do my multi training in one (for $70 an hour!!) My favorite old Beech multi is that ah... what do they call it.....?? Oh yeah, the T-Bone. Can't remember the model number. The engine's exhaust is straight piped. The Harley of the old twin world.

Being humble is considering others as important as yourself. You are thoughtful of their needs and willing to be of service. You don’t expect others or yourself to be perfect. You learn from your mistakes. When you do great things, humility reminds you to be thankful instead of boastful.
