1. Never been bumped off a 757 nonrevving out of SAN
2. Never tech stopped in a 757 on a winter time westbound transcon.
3. Read somewhere the 757 is the only narrobody that can climb right to 410 with a full load.
4. What other narrowbody can economically run PHL-JFK, then turn around and go JFK-LGW?

The 757- quite possibly the most versatile aircraft ever built!

Patriot328, where are you????

Sorry Goggles.. gotta work sometime.

757 is the better aircraft, hands down. The two aren't even in the same class. The 757 has better range, speed, load, and efficiency than the A320. Can a 320 take off from a 6500' runway and then fly westbound across the pond? I doubt it.

All that being said, I'd much rather have the A320's cockpit and ergonomics. The 757 is at least a generation behind the 320 in development, so comparing the cockpits is not even fair. The 320 is superior in comfort and ease of use. The cockpit of the boeing seems to be designed to torture pilots instead of helping them. Tripping over sh*t getting in and out of the seat, every panel has something that will cut or bruise you, a d&mn yoke that makes it impossible to get jepps done easily.

757 with a 320 cockpit (or even a 764 cockpit) would be great.

Why do most pilot seem to prefer the RR engines on the 757 vs. the P&W engines?

What makes the RR engines better in direct comparison?
