With Aloha having about 353 pilots, I don't see where it would impact the current pilots at SWA. If they are indeed going to be hiring 750+ next year, the total number of pilots at AQ isn't even half that amount. So it might set back some FOs a year or two...

Moot point anyway...anyone thinking an Aloha pilot is going to become a Southwest pilot by any means other than applying and being hired is DREAMING.

With upgrades getting longer and longer at SWA ... I doubt you would find one FO that would be willing to wait any longer than necessary.

English is correct. Getting to SWA by any means other than inteviewing and working one's way up the seniority ladder would create far more problems than the monies gained by a DOH integration.

The seniority system is what it is ... it's not perfect, but it does protect those who arrived at the game first and anything done to change that is dangerous.

Choosing an airline/employer is very much like choosing a mate ... you evaluate the pros/cons and then take a leap of faith.

Either way, DOH integrations are rarely acceptable to anyone other than those of the acquired airline. It's the sense of entitlement that some espouse that create most of the problems in these situations.

I seem to remember quite a few TWA pilots saying the exact same thing prior to ALPA selling them down the river.
All pilots say the same thing about going with the airplanes. All pilots always end up getting hosed because there are a zillion loopholes in these types of agreements.

It is called STAPLED TO THE BOTTOM of our list.

I know 2000 + FOs that would be irate at anything more than just a staple of your pilots to the bottom of our list.

One here.
