Now to be fair ... the guy who when given direct to Dixon NDB, couldn't get the box to take it ... he was an old fart....

Young guys are way smarter on the box... all that texting they do....

They are great at the tech stuff, not so good at thinking through a problem with the plane, in my experience.

To all the "young turks" who want stronger medicals, you cannot have it both ways. You cannot say that only pilots over 65, 60, 55 whatever have to take the harder med. If that is what you want, every pilot should meet the specs. Be careful what you wish for.

How about we sue the FAA right now over age discrimination? They already implement an EKG after a certain age, why not give one to someone who's 25? Someone's heart at 65 is just as healthy as someone who is 25. And why after a certain age a first class medical goes from 1 year to six months? That is so unfair!!! Our body never ages and we shouldn't have to give into more test or more frequent tests! In fact, after the age 65 they shouldn't even require medicals anymore because that pilot is such a professional and is so in-tune with their body that they should be the best determining factor if they are fit for flight.

My that certainly fixes everything. All I hear is "Get out of my seat" only a little louder How about we go back to writing a 29 on an ACT every year, that would certainly eliminate a lot of pilots with lower mental ability?

That's all it is. I especially love the attitude: "You benefited from Age 60, so I should too!"

Sorry, Junior, but the rules changed...get over it.

It's OK. You'll be 6' under by 67.

Just got a new Medical the day before yesterday. Man, that EKG gives me the creeps. At 44, I lift weights and run every day, study TKD 4 days a week (on my off weeks), eat right and keep the BEvERages at a reasonable level, but there isn't a dxmn thing I can do to prepare for that EKG. I want to whine about it not being fair, but I guess that I understand where they're coming from.

I just need the ticker to hold up long enough to get my student loans paid off...:smash:

Well it's not my fault you incured so much debt to fly. You should have planned better? (I am qouting the young guys regarding the old guys)

Hey lets make a new rule to suppress our options!!!!

(I am of course being sarcastic since it seems to need explaining here)

So, you are having troubles paying your student loans because the market is down?

Winner winner chicken dinner!!!!!!
Sh!t happens! Thats why you don't make log term rules that will stifle yourself?
Who the f^&k knows what will happen in the next 5 years?

Good luck to you man.

I don't envision not needing to work at 65. Its this or WalMart Greeter I guess....

Walmart Greeter

WAL-MART SENIOR GREETER
You just have to appreciate this one. Young people forget that we old people had a career before we retired...
mail

Charley, a new retiree-greeter at Wal-Mart, just couldn't seem to get to work on time. Every day he was 5, 10, 15 minutes late. But he was a good worker, really tidy, clean-shaven, sharp-minded and a real credit to the company and obviously demonstrating their "Older Person Friendly" policies.

One day the boss called him into the office for a talk.

"Charley, I have to tell you, I like your work ethic, you do a bang-up job when you finally get here; but your being late so often is quite bothersome."

"Yes, I know boss, and I am working on it."

"Well good, you are a team player. That's what I like to hear”.

“Yes sir, I understand your concern and I will try harder”.

Seeming puzzled, the manager went on to comment, “I know you're retired from the Armed Forces. What did they say to you there if you showed up in the morning late so often?"

The old man looked down at the floor, then smiled. He chuckled quietly, then said with a grin,

"They usually saluted and said, Good morning, Admiral, can I get your coffee, sir”?
