it is if you're junior enough or you get integrated. Is it normal at other regionals to work six days in a row like it is at SkyWest, or do you have some kind of protection from such nonsense? PBS is a POS.
Do you really not know the answer?
As long as a company doesn't exceed 6 days in a row, 30/7, 100/month or 1,000/yr they dont care what your schedule is. It is no different at any company.

There is no regulation that forbids working in excess of 6 days in a row. You are required to have 24 hours free from duty every 7 days, not 1 day off every 7 days.

Yes, I know the rules you tool. But just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD.
LUCKY FUKKERFrom the contract I work under:
" regular lines will be constructed to provide at least 2 days off at the pilot’s domicile during any 7 consecutive day period"
"The Company will construct trips with 1 to 4 days of duty"
"The rules for regular line construction will apply to relief lines (build-up/conversion lines at some places)"
"reserve lines will be constructed to provide at least 2 consecutive days off at the pilot’s domicile during any 7 consecutive day period."
So no, it looks like you can't work 6 days straight everywhere.

It is not normal at SkyWest either. It really sucks if that is your schedule, really. I have never been scheduled for six days in a row, nor have any of the people I know.
I have worked 6 days in a row with a 24 hour period off in a hotel and then worked a 3 day. That was by my own choosing so I could have 12 days off after that.
Your schedule WILL get better. 6 Days in a row is NOT normal.
If you are SLC based, PM me. Maybe I can help you out.

And a lot of us never had the ability to get schedules that, while maybe working 6 days straight once or twice a month, gives you the power to construct "lines" that have 9, 10 , or more day of in a row and not use vacation/user time to go get time off. Under the old system, the great lines never had more than 7 days off in a row. PBS gives you the chance to bid for time off.A lot of us never had 6 days in a row, PRIOR to pBS!!!!!!

Our contract stipulates that you must have one calender day off, in domicile, for any 7 day period. I frequently work 6 days in a row on reserve.

If you know the rules then quit crying about them. Wait. I have an idea. Go to your union reps and tell them you won't sign another contract unless it protects your quality of life. Oh wait.....you work for SKYW. My bad.

Well said. Also add the fact that you usually had to do the same trip all month which was quite boring. If you needed certain days off you had to risk throwing the rest of the month away just to get the days you needed. PBS is just what the doctor ordered. I haven't worked 6 days in a row in a long time unless i specifically bid for it. Bidding for hard lines again would be like going back to the stone age. I predict every airline will have PBS in the next 10-15 years.
How is it that you have such a knack for saying the dumbest things possible? Did you go to school for that?
