For those of you criticizing the use of BDL as an alt. I was watching the wx for my commute and the forecast was 6 to 8 hrs off predicting the storms arrival.

Yep. Thats what I said...and also someone else...in previous posts.

On paper it was actually okay...the TAF was no where near what actaully happened...and that was the same for other aiports as well. JFK wasn't supposed to get snow till after 2100L..it started around noon I think.

When 504 diverted...BDL was still okay, but the $hit was already on the way to the fan...unbeknownst to them.
